Ended up just putting Cracking skill group up to 3.

Went with initiation (Ascetic ordeal) and masking metmagic.  Bumped the survival skill to 2 with the remaining Karma as a reflection of the ordeal.

Heh. Guess Fury didn't notice that everyone was standing outside, not having gone into the hotel yet.

Indeed.  Mayhaps the Orkish fellow was confused and did not recognize you.

hmmm... Nekoyasha needs stuff.  Can I make skill rolls instead of spending nuyen?

@arknok
you want to make skill rolls to get stuff?  You did get a share of the reward.  I think around 4k nuyen.  And it has been about a month since the last Run.  Plenty of time and money to acquire goods.

Speaking of, we need bigger payouts. Barely enough to cover replacing the month of lifestyle the downtime burned from the last one.  :'(

I'd say wait for cabo to answer this, though personally, it wouldn't really matter to me.

Hmm.  we might, if one of our players doesn't post in about a day or so.  That being said, I'm okay with it, as long as the party doesn't mind.

Edit Sorry forgot this:

Samuel’s life wasn’t always this way, walking around like a cowboy working his way as a Runner but that’s this life of lone star agent. Hell usually the lines between Jake and Samuel blurs but he keeps up living drinking, gambling and smoking cigars.

Jake grew up in the Redmond Barrens son of a now deceased beat cop couple. His childhood was more normal than most others, a life spent in a prep school somehow paid for from his fathers pay check. Samuel’s parents kept him on the straight and narrow, but they turned out to be crooked and on the take, to pay for his schooling. A fact he did not know until his second year in college when the investigation into corruption caught his parents, who died in a shoot out when they resisted arrest.
With little money to his name and his parent’s funds being confiscated by the cops, he dropped out and couldn’t find a job. Soon penniless and looking at a rough life on the street an old family friend offered him a spot in the Lone Star academy. Leaping on the chance to avoid a place he’d not survive Jake in-rolled.
2 years later Jake graduated middle of his class Jake spent two years on the beat before finally being accepted into a Lone Star SWAT team. After the first fire fight when he took a head shot, and suffered a psychotic break. AND Devil Jake was born the western gunslinger who's out to make money, drink and smoke.

Off topic: I used to know a guy called Devil Jake on Xbox Live.

On topic:  Sheet looks good.  Can't help but notice the lack of a history.  In any case, my absent players have till midnight tomorrow before they're out, but again, your acceptance depends on the group.

If I initiate can I get a power point as my metamagic. Curious if this is allowed.

I asked this back in OOC on the run and never got and answer so I figure I try again here. :-)

Power points are what Adepts use for their powers. The adept powers have a power point cost kind of like the essence cost that 'ware has.

For every 1 magic point it gets converted to 1 power point. Now there is an optional rule when I initiate my metamagic can be a power point. Just curious if you would allow that or not. It's in the street magic book. Don't know what pg. offhand I'll look when i get home later on.

What I'm not sure about is whether that extra power point instead of a metamagic essentially gets you 2 more power points per initiatory grade (the first one coming when you increase magic rating with your new maximum) or not.

Post by: Lethe on <03-08-12/1546:16>
Only if you spent the huge lump of karma to raise magic by one. The power point gain traded for the metamagic is independent from and in addition to the normal power points, which is just equal to your magic.

Predator can get along with just about anyone, but she realizes that sometimes you have to work with people you don't necessarily like, and "grin and bear it".

On another note, is the money this time per teammate or again to be divided amongst everyone? (Big deciding factor in whether Pred would object to an extra person jumping in since that cuts into everyone's pockets)

it's split between the team.  You WISH I'd pay you each 60k nuyen each.
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: SeriousOne338 on <03-09-12/2302:51>
Call him an independent contractor and pay him less for this first run. If he askes why tell him that this is a trial run so less cash for him. He does not have a lot of contacts so this might be his first run with the higher end field. His background is a forceably retired corporate body guard with a crude aginst his old employers.
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: cabo_setek on <03-09-12/2350:46>
my question is how your character gets involved this far in.  The teams already been assembled, and accepted the job.  I don't see how or why they'd need an extra runner, not to mention how you found out about the job.
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Cato on <03-09-12/2356:00>
We could always bring him on in a subcontracted role, with a set sum... as for ways to do that if there is a situation 1) where his skillset would be needed to do whatever or help with whatever one of our contacts could say they have heard of a guy and set it up.  Or someone on the team already could "know of him" in some way with the same thing.

Or, since the intent is for us to be going on a trip you could just make him the Johnson's courier for whatever gear we need to have smuggled.  Or something like that.  How we get from there to him being on the team would probably need some sort of conflict or situation that he helps us out with.

Humm that could turn out bad in the end. Not sure if I'd work for someone that shot at me or want to work with people if I killed there friends also my character does have morals so being bribed would not work.

the split, I think, was 29k between 7 people.  It would have been 8, but I've seen neither hide nor hair of Pyromaster.  Which ends up being about 4k or so per person.

TY

So I would have initiated during that month off doing meditation. So I spent 13 karma prior to this mission. Other than that, my dude is going to buy some PPP Secure Gear (Leg and Arm Casings, forearm guards, shin guards, vitals protector) I assume you can find this in any old place based on its availability. And I would ask a teammate if they knew a mechanic that would add a spoof chip to my bike.

I would spend 900 on the PPP and if I can get the spoof chip setup up and additonal 500+ for the service. Try and squeeze this all in before we depart.

Also with the meta magic Power Point, I'm going to spend it on 2 ranks of Improve Ability (Blades) for 1 PP.

After reading Mirikon's last IC post, it brought a question up. Is this plane suborbital, or is just just your normal everyday private jet?
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Mirikon on <03-11-12/1447:32>
Wyrmtongue wouldn't know the difference. He's only been in a plane once, when they took him from Asia to Seattle. ;)
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: cabo_setek on <03-11-12/1504:17>
but if you're still curious, it's just a standard private jet.  Though it does have VTOL capabilities if needed.

Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Mirikon on <03-11-12/1926:15>
If someone is dropping out, I have no objection. But as the cut stands now, the total pay for this gig is just barely what my character needs for rent in a month, so I'd rather not chop that up any further.

Well, the matrix people can do their thing, perhaps, but those of us who, say, deal in face-to-face communication don't have those options. And I'm pretty sure the flight crew would be displeased if I started summoning spirits in the cabin.
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Cato on <03-14-12/2034:39>
We could always do some legwork, try to come up with a plan....

Although I would certainly be paranoid about getting in touch with anyone on the Johnson's transportation.  I'd assume everything is being checked.

That being said... what is our plan?  We could try to take out the bodyguards and pose as them.
Title: Re: [OOC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Mirikon on <03-14-12/2040:28>
I was thinking just let Wyrmtongue try to seduce her, get her off somewhere private, drug her, and ship her off to the Johnson.

Post by: Mirikon on <03-15-12/0701:28>
I don't have any contacts with reach beyond Seattle, and I can turn my commlink on and get it to do basic functions, and that's about it. Wyrmtongue has been all of two places in his life, Angkor Wat and Seattle. And most of the time in Seattle, he was kept as property of a megacorp. So there isn't much he can do until there are face-to-face talks to be done.

While flying isn't a part of her phobia (she's like me and loves flying despite being terrified of heights), she'd rather not take chances of something 'tweaking' wrong and freaking out over the height issue--that's why she's doing her talking to the person she contacted via VR.

You could always start a conversation, you know...

Indeed.  Sharing is, most of the time, caring.  Not to mention beneficial to any self-interest one may have.

I have one contact that might be able to help us out, but I'll need something to feed him.  All I could get now would probably just be about the johnson.

Anyway, the conversation is started.  Share away.

So what did the message say, Guns?

Exact wording, unsure, but here's what I got sent to me.

Quote
The smuggler spent a few hours trailing Sakura and notices a couple of things.

1. There are always two guards that are with her.  Two Orcs, specifically Oni.

2. Despite being spoiled, and being 22 years old, she appears to be quite responsible, shooting down several attractive men who were hitting on her.

I just noticed a bug with Chummer. Did anyone else add ammunition as plug-in to spare clips? If so, instead of it just being that amount of ammo divided among the clips (it still shows that way) it charges equal to the cost of the ammo multiplied by the number of clips. Just thought I'd point this out because it may be necessary to retool any character that ammo was added to the character in such a manner on.

Uhm . . . sorry guys.  My internet was gone for a while.  Finally got it back this morning.  Though that's a moot point anyway, as I have to put this run on hiatus.  I'm shipping out to boot camp soon.  If I can, I'll try and update there, but don't get your hopes up.  Really sorry, guys.
