Title: [IC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: cabo_setek on <03-03-12/1708:53>
A month has passed since your last Run with the team.  You've made a name for yourself since then, doing jobs here and there.  Not to say you didn't keep up with your new friends.  Card games and drinks every now and then.  But money's getting tight again.  Hopefully, you can score with a good run.

It's a particularly pleasant Tuesday morning.  And it would be for Wyrmtongue as well, if the serpent wasn't suffering from a hangover after spending the night partying at Infinity.  His commlink beeps, alerting him to a message.  Taking his preferred elf form, he affixes the link, reading the message.

"Hey Stud.  It's Lenora.  Got a possible job for you.  Get your team together and head for Hotel Nikko, on Third and Pike.  Tell the desk you're meeting Mr. Johnson in the Dragon Suite.  Don't worry, you've got time to get over that hangover I'm sure you have.  Meeting's at 3 this afternoon."

Yawning, Wyrmtongue sent the call out to the rest of the team, informing them of the time and place of the meet. Turning away from the view of his window, he returned to the bedroom, and the two women who were waiting there for him as he shed his metahuman form.

*****

At a quarter to three, he was standing outside Hotel Nikko, in his elf form, wearing stylish black clothes with that same lined coat from the last run. Leaning against the wall, he waited for the others to arrive, so they could go in as a group. Made more of an impression that way.

After receiving the message from Wyrmtongue, Predator looks it over and nods to herself before sending back an affirmative message. Shortly after Wyrmtongue's arrival at the hotel, she pulls up in her Rover and parks. Getting out, she approaches the naga/elf and says, "Well, long time no see. How many of the others we expecting here?"

Wyrmtongue smiled at Predator. "Too long, my dear. Too long. You look positively scrumptious, I must say. One of these days, you're going to have to stop rejecting my offer to take you out for some drinks, off the clock, hmm?" He chuckled, and then leaned back against the wall. "I called everyone from the last run. We'll see who shows up."

Hawk received the message and smiled.

It should be interesting, running with this bunch again.

Arriving at the hotel, he notices Wyrmtongue and Predator standing outside.  He walks up to them, a little thinner than when they last met and nods.  "Nice to see you here."

Father Fury was thankful that the meeting was for the middle of the afternoon. He'd already promised a friend he would work the lunch shift at a local soup kitchen, and that gave him time to serve lunch, kick out a couple of troublemakers, and mop the floor. His holster strapped inside his jacket, he strolls into the lobby of the hotel and eventually makes his way to the Dragon Suite. He nods to his associates, and takes a seat in the corner.

Looking around at the rest of the assembled team, Predator says, "Well, looks like at least most of us are here. I say we head on inside and get down to business."
Title: Re: [IC] Out of the Frying Pan

Wyrmtongue frowned as the ork passed them by and headed on into the meet. He had been hoping to make an impression. Shaking his head, he looked at Predator, and said, "Might as well. Fury slotted up my plan to make an entrance with the whole team, anyways. Would've had a good image, you know? Let's go in and see what they want." He does offer a nod to the cat-drone. Silly thing. Why the rigger didn't just come out into the meat he didn't know. Or at least pick a better drone.

With a motion to the others, he headed in, and made his way to the Dragon Suite, not looking at Fury as he did so.

You and the team quickly arrive at the Suite.  Outside, two Orcs dressed in suits stand on either side of the door.  One speaks into their commlink.  "Johnson-sama.  Go yoyaku wa tōchaku shimashita. Watashi wa sorera o demashou ka?"  A moment passes.  He looks at you, "Johnson-sama will see you.  Please enter."  He opens the door.

Inside, you find out why it's called the Dragon Suite.  Murals of several dragons line the walls, the chairs and desks all have elegant dragon carvings, and even a chandelier with a wyrm sculpted around it.  Behind the desk, you see an old human, his long beard and the hair remaining on his head colored a silver grey.  Beside him stands another human, also dressed in a suit, his hands crossed in front of him.

Johnson gestures to the lavish couches in front of the desk.  "Yōkoso.  Zaseki o go yōi kudasai. Anata wa, ikutsu ka no ocha wa ikagadesu ka?"  The man beside clears his throat.  "Welcome," he translates, "Please, have a seat, would you care for some tea?"

Post by: All4BigGuns on <03-08-12/0206:25>
As Predator enters the Dragon Suite, she gives and holds a low bow to the Johnson as she waits for him to acknowledge the team's presence, and as he offers a seat, she moves and sits on one of the couches responding to the offer of tea in Japanese, "Yes, please. Thank you."

I typed what she said translated, because of the fact that I--as the player--do not know Japanese.

Sugoi pulls up to the hotel just as everyone enters. He jotted over, "Gomen!" he says to everyone, "Traffic is bit of a bitch." As everyone says hi he follows everyone up to the dragon suite, he awaits to be let in and is very slightly taken back at the gaudiness, but shows no signs of bothering him. He sits when offered a seat, he bows his head and takes a seat, "Kudasai wa i." in response to the tea. ((Yes please)) He looks around in detail.

Wyrmtongue nodded as he sat opposite the Johnson, and said, also in Japanese, "Our thanks. Please, I would love to have some tea." While he might not have all human customs down yet, he does at least know enough to be polite. He sat there, watching the Johnson and his associate, allowing them to move the meet at their own pace, for now.

Hawk entered with the others and sat down slowly, letting his eyes take in the room.

Responding to the offer of tea he nods: "Of course."

Anything the johnson says will be translated by the translator, so just assume anything he says is what the johnson said.

"Thank you for coming on such short notice. I greatly appreciate it.  You clearly understand that I have a job for you, so I shall not waste your time.  I wish for you to collect someone for me."  The Johnson sends each of you a photo of the person.  It's a girl, maybe 22 years old, human, japanese.  Her hair is colored a bright pink, and a tattoo of a serpent is visible on her neck.  "Who she is, and why I want her does not matter.  What does matter, is that I am willing to pay handsomely for her safe arrival here.  Before I provide further details, I must know.  Are you willing to take the job?"

Vinn, you don't see anything out of the ordinary.  If you can call a room with a dragon theme ordinary.
Title: Re: [IC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Mirikon on <03-08-12/1911:15>
Wyrmtongue nods his head. He speaks in Japanese, saying, "I believe we are amenable, so long as there is the understanding that the details may affect the final price. Such as whether the girl is willing or unwilling, whether she is Awakened, Emerged, or heavily modified, or has significant protections in place, other interested parties, and so on. I am sure you understand, yes?"
Title: Re: [IC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: cabo_setek on <03-08-12/2335:30>
The Johnson smiles.  "Yes, I understand quite well.  It is a wise man who considers all avenues.  Then I will give the details.  The girl is human, plain and simple.  There is nothing special about her, save one fact.  She is the only daughter of a business rival of mine.  This rival presumes that because I am old, they can take what is mine with impunity.  They believe they are stronger than me.  I will prove them wrong."

"Her father spoils her, as one might expect.  She is allowed many freedoms, and is given anything she wants.  This works to our advantage."  He sips from a teacup.  "She is currently in Monaco, attending parties for the Grand Prix.  She will be there for the week.  While there, her father has arranged guards to watch her.  How many is unknown.  As for other interested parties, I cannot say for certain.  People in my line of work tend to seize opportunities such as this when presented."

"I will pay all travel expenses, first class, of course.  If you accept the offer, know that there are conditions you must work under.  The first:  She must NOT be harmed.  Her well-being is vital as a bargaining chip.  The Second: Do not kill any of the guards, if you can help it.  I want a message to be sent.  You are so weak, I took what is most precious to you with no trouble at all."  He bangs his fist as he finishes the last sentence.

"Upon successful delivery of the girl, you will be paid 30,000 Nuyen.  A further 10 if you manage to take her without incident.  Are we agreed?"
Title: Re: [IC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Mirikon on <03-09-12/0902:17>
Wyrmtongue listens to the man's words carefully, and then says, "Traveling to another continent presents certain challenges, as I'm sure you know. Foremost among them being the difficulty in arranging for supplies that might be needed when we are in place, whether it is in the form of equipment, transportation, or bribes to smooth the way. As outsiders on a short timetable, the costs will only be higher. I believe that eighty thousand nuyen, with the ten thousand bonus for lack of lethal action is a better price. And I am sure you would agree that having an advance of twenty percent is only fair, yes?" His tone is respectful, just that of a businessman involved in the everyday manner of the world. The fact that they are talking about kidnapping a girl for political games is no concern to him.

The Johnson ponders on your words for a moment.  "Sixty thousand, and I will arrange for proper documentation, transport of any equipment you may have, and the cooperation of officials that may pose a problem.  And I will agree to 20 percent as a down payment for services to be rendered."

Vinn, Monaco is on the southern coast of France.

"Excellent.  I will have my people forward your payment soon.  It will take several hours to prepare your documents.  There will be a private jet awaiting you at Sea-Tac later this evening, approximately 10 PM.  Make any arrangements you must before leaving.  Bring your equipment if you wish, one of my people will handle its shipping."  He sips from his teacup.  "Have a pleasant afternoon."

You and the team leave, soon finding your account 12,000 nuyen heavier.

You and the team spend the afternoon and most of the evening preparing and gathering your equipment and any supplies you might have needed.  Once the clock strikes 9, you each receive a message instructing you on who to meet to be taken to a private hangar.

You head to Sea-Tac, and are approached by an Elf in a suit.  "Are you the party Johnson-Sama spoke of?"
Title: Re: [IC] Out of the Frying Pan
Post by: Mirikon on <03-10-12/2105:12>
Wyrmtongue gathered his supplies, and a few sets of clothes into a suitcase, and headed to the airport. Nodding to the Elf, he said, "Yes, we're the ones. You have a private hangar for us, yes?"

Post by: cabo_setek on <03-10-12/2211:36>
"Hai.  Please, follow me."  You are quickly led out to the airfield and into a hangar, in which sits a Gulfstream Luxe V.  "All the necessary documentation and arrangements have been made.  Your luggage may be carried aboard the plane."  As you enter the plane, you notice it's decidedly nondescript.  Plain flooring, plain walls.  It seems the only luxury is the plush leather seating.

After returning home to gather the rest of her gear and pack a few changes of clothes, Predator calls up Tesoki for a ride to Sea-Tac and to ask him to keep an eye on her place for a few days until she got back. Arriving shortly after Wyrmtongue, she follows behind the 'guide' with him to the hangar and boards the plane.

Sugoi packs light, buys some gear he was looking for and sets off for Sea-Tac, he arrives a minute after Pred tries to find out a way for his bike to get on the plane. He has no luggage at all and the PPP secure tech he purchased is fitted underneath his clothes. If he can't get his bike in than he'll park it where all vehicles are parked and make his way over.

Stowing his suitcase on board, Wyrmtongue relaxes for the moment. Nodding pleasantly to the others, Wyrmtongue slipped out of his clothes, before reverting to his true form. "Apologiesss. But thessse sssuborbital flightsss can have sssome nasssty effectsss on magic, moving ssso high, where there isss ssso little mana. After securing her gear and clothing baggage, Predator eases down into one of the plush leather seats with a sigh and looks to the team saying, "Oh how I miss travelling like this. Haven't done it since I was a kid." With that, she leans back and lets herself relax in the comfortable embrace of the supple leather.

With your luggage stowed away, and your seats belted, the pilot announces that the plane is being towed out to the runway.  After a few short minutes, the engines begin to roar into life.  You're pushed back slightly into your seats as the jet accelerates, faster and faster, until it finally leaves the ground.

The pilot comes up on the intercom again, "We will reach cruising altitude shortly.  Once there, ETA to destination will be about 7 hours.  An attendant is on standby for anything you might need.  Enjoy your flight."

As the plane takes off and climbs up to cruising altitude, Predator makes sure her data jack is securely in the port on her comm before slotting in a sim she'd borrowed from Tesoki and settles in for the long flight.

The sim she slots is just a perfectly legal sim, like a movie in modern times.

Wyrmtongue may have been belted in the seat, but only part of him was actually there. Once they were in the air, he chuckled, and slipped out from the restraints, slithering along the floor and then coiling into a pile in one spot to sleep unless someone expressed interest in any other activity.

After a couple of hours into the sim, Predator has a thought and deactivates the sim. Staying in VR, she calls up her address book and pulls out her smuggler contact's comm code. She says via a message, "Ronnie, would you happen to know anyone in Monaco? I could use some friendly faces in the area for a job. Will send more detail if you need it if you know someone there."

Predator looks down at her comm as she hears the tell-tale sound of a received message and says, "Well, there's good news. It would appear that her personal guards are just two oni. That shouldn't be an issue, a few Stick-n-Shocks and they should go down." Turning to Wyrmtongue she continues, "The bad news is that if you planned on trying to schmooze her to get her to come more quietly, it sounds like you'll need to be at the top of your game." With that, she sends the received message to the other  team members.

Wyrmtongue sighed, and cast the spell to turn him into the Elf once more. As he began putting on his clothes, he looked at the others, and said, "That makes things problematic. I am, I would think, better at seduction than that random guy, but it is worth the caution to note that she is not an idiot. Very well. It would have been easier if we could isolate her from the guards, but that may not be possible. Can one of you arrange for a message to reach her, supposedly from her father, asking her to meet  a courier to pick up a sensitive package that cannot be trusted to conventional delivery methods? This way, we can at least set the trap someplace where we'll have the advantage."

An hour later, the pilot speaks up again.  "Ladies and Gentlemen, place your seats and trays in their upright position.  We are beginning our descent.  Local time is approximately 12 PM in the afternoon.  The weather is clear and sunny."  As you collect your items and disembark into the private hangar, you notice 3 plain black cars parked in a single file line.

One of the men, presumably another one of the Johnson's, speaks up.  "Welcome to Monaco.  Johnson-sama has arranged transportation and your hotel rooms.  Please, place your items in the car of your choosing.  Each vehicle will leave and arrive at separate times as to not arouse suspicion."

Wyrmtongue nodded as the others decided on an appropriate plan of action, and followed Fury into the first car. "Indeed. Once we get to the hotel and get freshened up, I think I'll go and see if I can get into whatever party our target is in right now. See what we can see. In the meantime, I suggest we try to find out what room and what hotel she is staying in. That may be our best bet for pulling a 'quiet' extraction."
