As you can probably discern from the fact that this is my first post on this site, I have never been here before. Additionally, my last Shadow Run character was pretty generic. I was longarms support for my team and generally did not play that big of a role. However, now I'd like to help out a bit more now that we've cycled GM's, and I've decided to be the tank. However, I'm having a lot of trouble starting my character off, as I've never played the role of a tank before. Could I possibly get a few pointers from you guys for starting a Troll Tank? Thanks a million in advance.

Wired Reflexes, good armor, and a good melee and ranged weapon are the keys. Skillwires help, too. Everything else is negotiable.

I already got the second rank of wired reflexes and armor is a given, but I completely forgot to give myself a melee in my obsession over all the heavy weapons I have the option of using. Thank you!

A great example of a tank character is Umaro's Bad Enough Trog (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KTX4FC4rl55QILGOfcnc9MTwApiqFbmqlOfLtNRUoxo/edit).

No problem. If you have Arsenal, go with the claymore. As a troll, it will do just fine for ya. For ranged, while having heavy weapons is nice, you'll want to have something for the times when the fact that someone playing games with a grenade launcher or machine gun is going to bring more heat than you want. Use an assault rifle or battle rifle as your primary ranged weapon. Stick to SA or BF for the most part, unless a situation demands FA. A silenced battle rifle makes for a good weapon for up close and mid-ranged work.

Also remember that, if you take Ambidextrous, you can fire a Long Burst with an AR or BR in each hand at only a -1 penalty to each weapon, and 5 points of Recoil Comp is easy to come by for a Troll.
