Title: is this a good build for a mystic adept/summoner
Post by: blacksakura on <05-08-12/2149:56>
okay first character I have built for shadow run 4e using the standard 400bp system this is what i have so far, I am looking for a character that isn't  overpowered that is very underpowered and requires a team to support it.

my character is an elf mystic adept who uses spirits to power itself but doesn't want to use spells, so basicly a gun mage

Concept:  raised in a remote Temple,  was stung by a tree thorn, which contained the spirit of oak now seeking clue to why the magic plane exists and why spirits exist...after the sting character became awaken and decided to become a shadow runner, is seeking out different magic groups to learn more about the astral plane and fighting people along the way..but isn't strong enough to solo so is seeking a seasoned group of shadow runners to become apart of and provide support to the team while using them to gain the answers.

Average attributes is kind of expensive in BP without really adding to your overall power.
Body give extra condition box at 3 and 5.
Why do you want Strength 4?
Why not a high charisma for drain when you are an elf?
Intuition is normally more important than logic because of initiative.

Yur skills are really low. Get one at 6. The rest of yor important skills at 4 and the ones you can't live without and/or default to at 1.
Take one shooting skill and be good at that instead of 2 you suck at and drop blades - you wont hurt anybody with it.
You should get spellcasting. It is a really big part of what you can be you a leaving out. Or you could go specialization from streetmagic to boost your summoning side if you don't want to do spells.
What are you planning to do against hostile spirits?

I think you could do better with your powers. Improved agility isn't that good and improving your agility for karma is going to be very expensive. You don't have extra actions. I think Astral Perception (and assensing skill) would be part of your concept.

You want better armor, commlink, ammunition, glasses, contacts and earbuds and lots of other basic gear.

A power roci rank 4 with restricted gear is a huge bonus and you should get it.

specialization just arent worth it at start better to spend those points on upping skills as specialization is 2 karma.

chargen sprits are a) very expensive and b) all bound. Just buy some Binding materials instead.
