Title: Tell me about Spain
Post by: Van Gogh on <07-07-12/1545:16>
I have a player who made a character from some part of Spain, and he wants to be a member of some crime syndicate called something like the Corsican brotherhood (NOT to be mistaken with the Corsican brothers hehe( I don't have all the details in front of me right now)). Any ideas on how to expand on this? (BTW his character is a gnome bodyguard with wired reflexes). The campaign setting is in Seattle (at least that's where it starts). I guess I'm just wondering if there is any information out there on Spain.

Shadows of Europe has a chapter on Spain and Euskal Herria (Basque Country). EH is more meta and cyber-friendly than anywhere in Spain.

Vice has a paragraph or so on Unione Corse, the Corsican Mafia, going right into OC in Spain. Organized crime is also discussed at some length in SoE—a subchapter in the beginning and discussions for each country's chapter.

Really, I figure if he's Spanish (or Basque) he would be a member of a local Mafia family and not Corsican. If he's Corsican, then that's that and he spent time in Spain. In which case he could have lived pretty much anywhere.

James has hit on most of the big stuff, I'm not even sure (off the top of my head) if Spain got a chapter in Sixth World Almanac.  The only other sources I'd think to check might be some of the French-or-German only sourcebooks (if you know anyone who's got access to, and can read, them), 'cause maybe the European sourcebooks focus a little more on...well...Europe.

Spain isn't in the almanac, but France is.

I have some ideas for Spain though.

Does the rain still stay mainly in the plain?
