Title: Support character
Post by: bmoham on <07-26-12/0432:49>
I’m thinking about making a general support character for gencon and wondering what people think are the key skills/qualities/gear for the role.

Right now I’m thinking hacking (since it seems like the role most often missing and since my main character is a tecnomancer), first aid, pilot auto, perception, disguise, and forgery. I’m leaning toward taking the electronics group and maybe the infiltration group as well.

I’m planning to buy a level 4 tacnet (with restricted gear quality) and some spare sensor so everyone can benefit from it. I’m also considering a drone or two (maybe one with an arm and a small one for scouting) and either a vehicle or a mechanic contact that can get a “disposable” one easily.

Of course I'll also take some sort of combat skill - pistols probably though maybe gunnery if I go the drone route.

Thoughts?

Go automatic instead of pistol.  carry a Autopistol

Personally I would drop forgery as to make anything worth while would take a very long time. I would generally say no to disguise for a support character unless you take it as part of the stealth skill group. The tac net is a good idea to help out the group, but you need to consider if the drones would be able to contribute all of the sensor channels needed to get the best bonus.
