Hardy. Half-Life was great, damned near revolutionary. Half-Life 2 was a whole lot of...meh.

Frankly, the Shadowrun and BattleTech electronic properties rate higher on my importance list right now.

Well I expect those two not comming before next year, so there is plenty of time to finish some others...

It's a valve product. So you'll pay $79.99 for 2 DVDs... And then have to download a 6gig "patch" via steam to play.

Just like they did with half-life2 (8 CDs? And a 800meg 'authorization' download)

Got way better things to do with my time and money then play yet an other "meh" game by Valve.

Black Mesa is Half-Life that comes back with a vengeance. I's say it's the FPS equivalent of Hatchetman coming back from the grave in a shiny semi-new body. I've finished it recently, and can't wait till they do the Xen part. Also - the writing and new additions/refits of the story and maps are great. My favourite quote: Security Guard at the Lab entrance to Gordon "Man, you cut the ponytail! Sellout." That's corporate life for you. ;)

As for the price - you can download the Half-Life 2 Source for free on Steam. Then you just download and install Black Mesa and play... It's really back. Get ready for Unforseen Consequences.

P.S. The soundtrack is perfect for a Shadowrun game too!

I am a big fan of Mr Freeman and the gravity gun. I'm amazed that I didn't know about it.
This is now on my 'must-have' list.

It's free. Almost. Only costs you a lot of time. :)

Alternately, get it on Steam during a Summer/Holiday sale for less than $30.

I hope Mike has the vitality and vigor when he did the early CP2020 that he does for CP2077. I'm a big fan of CP2020. It's a fun system. I think one of the strengths of Shadowrun is the passing the torch mentality. IE Line Developers pass from one person to the next starting with Tom Dowd I believe. As it passes the game keeps on. RT Games doesn't have that. It seems like it's all Mike Pondsmith at the helm. When he left to go work at Microsoft so did RT Games for the most part. His wife helps run stuff and goes to Origins and Gen con but the company wasn't putting anything out interesting.

I'm really looking forward to CP 2077. I hope I won't be as disappointed as V.3. Mike's a sharp guy if anyone can pull the property out of the crapper  it's Mike. I have allot of hope he's going to kick ass. If I'm wrong I'll go to tea time with the ladies and talk about scrap booking and how cute everyone's kids are. (Something as horrible as going to a baby or wedding shower. The horror I will never forget. Luckily my hip flask helped speed along the afternoon. Cthulu has nothing on women looking at baby pictures and playing baby shower games. The horror.....The horror......)

ˆ Think you wanted to post that in the other thread.
