I managed to snag one of each of these decks from GenCon (didn't get to go, myself, but local game store owner hooked me up at my request!).
Anyway, I have to say I really like these cards and their usefulness for quickly having weapon information on hand. I haven't handed them out to players yet (just getting a new group together), but will be doing so at our next game.
I did have one small suggestion for version 2.0 of the deck, or whatever: consistency in the artwork. I can appreciate that the artwork for each vehicle/weapon which can span a goodly amount of time. However, that being said, it is sometimes difficult to make out the details on a gun which has its artwork taken from a 3D model of the gun. Those models look good on computers, but unless in full lighting and color, they don't work well in print, in my opinion. Details are lost and it just looks a bit muddy. I actually preferred the old-school drawn graphics, or even the more schematic-looking ones. I'd love to give details, but I'm at work and don't have the decks in front of me.
So I just wanted to say well done on the product and that I wish I could get more so that I could give each player a card for each weapon they own! That gets a bit tough when I only have one deck and three players are packing Ares Predators.

Release date? Not to sound nosy..... ::)

The Decks were a small print run, convention exclusive item.
They were very well received though, so who knows what the future holds.

I have been looking all over. I really want a set of these.. if I can't find a set I'm going to make my own.

They were sold out at GenCon. I managed to grab the last deck sold, sadly I was not able to get both decks.

I've not even seen one. I hope to track a couple down someday, but, for now, they're elusive.
(Now if we can just get reprints of teh Denver passes...)

Yeah. I work for the company, and didn't get a set. I HAD a one of each deck set aside for me to pick up on Sunday with the rest of my books, but apparently someone sold them :(

That's why you grab them at the START of the con, and leave them in your room, where no one can mistake them for merchandise.

That's why I bought my set as soon as I got there.
Along with a huge stack of SR2050 to send to family. The hard part was carrying everything with a broken arm and no cast!

This is why you work on having kids (Or as I call 'em, pack mules), CanRay! What, you don't think we make kid-sized backpacks for *schoolbooks*, do you? I mean really.

You could lighten your load by sending one of those hardcopies to me. :P

Nahh, general policy is that employees pick up their swag at the end of the weekend. Generally so that new release stuff doesn't all get grabbed up by employees right away, since we want to actually SELL the books, and usually we can wait and get copies shipped to us or whatever later on if they sell out. In the case of special release stuff like this, it's always a little iffy. I'm not actually upset or anything. WOuld have been nice to get, but I'll live. :) Very few of the employees ended up with the decks.
And I'd rather see them sell to someone who'll enjoy them, rather than just end up on a shelf taking up space and collecting dust, which is what they'd end up doing here. :)

That can work, if you also send a SASE in the package. ;D

Hey, do we get a comp copy of stuff we do work in? I never even thought to ask that. Huh.
Not that I won't be buying several, anyway, but the thought just popped up.
(Oh, and you should get CanRay to sign your copy of Safehouses. Just give him the laptop and a magic marker. He'll make it work.)
