Game: Into the deeps

Game Location: Starts in Seattle and will go around the globe.

I am looking for a team of four. The idea for the group of runners is a group that has been doing jobs for a while they specialize in recon and asset seizure. Characters will need to be able to travel by foot to places also climbing is a good idea.  There will be little to no hacking, so hackers need not apply, I’m still learning the rules for hackers and it is not something I want to have to spend an hour reading to respond to a signal post.

Character Gen:
-Only use the Main Rule Book for construction (This is for construction, we’ll expand into other books in game)
       -If you want to take Qualities from other books ask and I will think about it.
-Standard Character Construction, except: 425bps.

Minimum 1 post a week. I my post more often but well I have an erratic schedule.

Background:
19 years old Edge Rider is a complete geek of live action japanese heroes since the age of 10. At 14 he when he awakened the first thing he did is sign his self up for a martial art class by wiched he hope to live like onf of his heroes. he started running with gangs around the age of 16 but never staying with one or wearing there colors..he was more in the hobby of beating up people he thought deserved it. Having caught the eye of a talent recruiter at 17 he was at the time a a full time shadowrunner newbie with a side hobby of vigilantism. Its now been two years since hes been recruited by "Random Encounters Inc" and he is loving his current life in a very naive way.

vinnmun: As he stands umm I'd say no, you need to be someone that would be employed long term. Also remember we're trying to keep to the core rule book.

Physical Description: 5'11", 31 years old, medium built, relatively short and black hair, piercing black eyes. Dark coloured skin, no visible tattoos nor scars.
Personality/background From his earliest memories, Lurking Crow was brought up in the traditions of the Dog. His tribe has always been guided and protected by the Dog spirit. To his parents' disappointment, the Dog seemed to show no interest in Lurking Crow for the great spirit of the Raven had already claimed him as one of his own.

As Lurking Crow grew into adolescence, behavioural patterns started to emerge: the burning loyalty that is dominant in followers of the Dog was lukewarm at best. Lurking Crow began prioritizing his own fate over the one of the tribe.

His life drastically changed around the age of 14. Lurking Crow, along with all able-bodied men of the tribe, had been tasked to find some elusive "dragon's paw" herbs to cure the tribe elder. After a few day's worth of search, Lurking Crow found a handful of it. He quickly went back to the tribe with a proposal: the herbs in exchange for a branch from the tribe's protective willow.

The chief called Lurking Crow's bluff. He didn't want to negotiate with a member of his own tribe over the health of one of the most respected members. After a long negotiation, Lurking crow was subdued and the herbs were taken from him. He was sentenced to exile from his tribe, never to come back. Lurking Crow vanished into the night, but not before stealing the branch he had sought.

After months of wandering, the great Raven spirit reached out to him and guided him to Whispering Breeze, a fellow Raven shaman. For the next years, Lurking Crow learned anything and everything he could from Whispering Breeze. With Whispering Breeze's help, Lurking Crow was able to carve the valuable willow's branch into a powerful item that both helped him channel his focus towards the art of magic and solidified his commitment to the Raven. One day, Lurking Crow woke up and Whispering Breeze was gone. He knew his apprenticeship was over. All that was left was a contact number.

Lurking Crow finally found his way to Seattle, making ends meet and eventually reconnecting with Whispering Breeze, although not in the teacher/pupil way he had been used to.

Through his dedication and effective methods, Lurking Crow shadowed an experienced wheelman and learned how to drive in a bid to get an edge over other potential recruits. As a result, he has been able to secure regular employment with Random Encounters Inc, albeit not on the A-team. Yet...

Bio:
Aran is a college student for Magic Theory, some years ago he started to work for a company as a consultant, his expertise into different magical traditions was interesting to estimate the different approaches magical invaders could use, he is proud to work with those.
When one of the company members offered him a job into this task team he thrilled, having  a chance to use some of those spells he only knew in theory, he joined them right away, he is into the Random Encounters Inc. for only almost an year and had few missions.

He is quite naive also, he really can't see which kinda danger he is stepping into, thinking to be some sorta company super spy.

Everything is from the core book, I double-checked. What pieces in specific are you looking at?

Erased is "removing undesirable data" more than it is a slate-wipe. But if you want it gone, I can re-tweak.

And as for armor/soak, here's the breakdown:
Ceramic Bone Lacing - 2
Body - 9
Toll Armor - 1
Orthoskin - 3
Camo Suit - 8
Ballistic Mask - 2

As for how you get your background, figure you've been approached and hired to work for this small corporation. You've been employed for 2 years working small jobs.

From SR4A under the Qualities list:
Quote
Erased
Cost: 5BP or10BP
Better than SINless—the character with this quality officially
doesn’t exist and never did; someone or something actively works to
remove her traces from the system. Maybe it’s an elite hacker who owes
her a favor or an AI she befriended, but the end result is that her data
trail and records vanish from all but the most secure systems shortly
after being entered. For 5 BP, criminal SINs and unwanted data disappear
within a week. For 10 BP, any SIN, undesirable credit history, or
personal information on the Matrix that she wishes is burnt after 24
hours. Obviously, the eraser will preserve any data the character wishes
preserved and that is vital for her to function in society. Note that vanishing
data may prove an unwanted complication if the character is
in custody or doing prison time (the Man may “forget” she is there).

Sylvia was born in Washington DC, UCAS, as daughter of a wage mage and an adept officer in the UCAS army.  As both her parents were awakened, she and later her two younger brothers were tested as well.  As it turned out only she was awakened, which meant even more tests to see how exactly.  This was not exactly the kind of thing an inquisitive 6 year old wanted to do and it became an almost continuous battle between Sylvia and the mages of both her mother’s company and the army.  She was placed in a special school program for awakened in order to improve on their talents and she did very well there.

When she hit puberty, she started to think she was ugly and it was at this point she discovered she could change some of her facial features, hair and skin colour and even her voice.  With some of her girlfriends she started using these powers to play tricks on boys.  Halfway through an evening, she would switch with her friend and try to keep the conversation going, even though she didn’t know what was said before.  It was mostly harmless fun, but she got caught a couple of times and due to this a new player entered: the Central Intelligence Agency.  People who could change their appearance were not all that common but very useful, so they wanted to recruit her.

At first she resisted as she wanted to go to the army like her father, but it became quickly clear that she wasn’t a soldier.  After an accident where she drove a tank against a bunker, wrecking the tank, they made it clear to her that she wouldn’t graduate and maybe to accept the intelligence offer.  This she did and she has never regretted it.  With the intelligence service she blossomed and started to develop her powers in a more structured way.  She also learned unarmed combat to be able to defend herself in a spot where she couldn’t take weapons.  It quickly became clear she was better unarmed than with guns.  She still had some issues with technology from time to time.  But the Agency also let her implant some bioware to make her stronger and faster.

In 2063, the now 19-year old Sylvia went on her first mission, getting into the offices of a smaller Japanese corporation to get a couple of chips.  After a stake-out of the corporation, she was able to impersonate one of the employees and get in that way.  One year later, in 2064, she was in the Carribian league for her first operation on foreign soil, when the crash hit.  She lost her SIN data, like so many.  Having no other options at that moment, she struck out on her own (taking with her all the equipment they had given her for this mission), using her skills to operate in the shadows all over North America and from time to time abroad.

This was a tough time and at one point she was tempted to try a BTL (with trodes of course, as she never had a DNI implant).  She didn’t know how it was programmed or if there was something with her brain that reacted with the chip, but luckily she had her docwagen contract (under one of her fake names) as she spent the following two weeks in hospital.  When she got out, her first order of business was to track the gang that had sold her the thing and make them pay.  Also also made a pact with herself to never try drugs or BTLs anymore.  She did continue to enjoy a drink now and again (and often more than one) although she didn’t drink (much) before a run. 

Although she did manage to get a new SIN under the amnesty rules that were brought into being after the crash, she continued running the shadows and in 2066 she did her first AA-corp job.  To get in using her impersonation trick, she needed good documents which could withstand any scrutiny.  One of the team members knew someone who could do document forgeries and indeed, the run went without a problem.  Since that time Sylvia always went to her for any document forgery she needed and while she always paid, they got to know each other a bit better.   And if she managed to get her hands on some types of documents (like ID badges and such) she provided her with the real ones or a copy so she could make her forgeries better.

In 2069, Cari Banks brought her into contact with a mafia lieutenant who had lost some of the mob’s property to a Yakuza raid.  Not wanting to alert his superiors, he hired her to get the property back, a small but valuable case.  She managed to get the case and the only guard she had to take out she did with a blow on the head and a shot of Lael.  The lieutenant was glad he got the valuables back discreetly and hired her a couple of times, while she managed to get some hard to get items like replacements for the gear she had taken from the CIA.

Recently she had gotten some surgery to place a pouch under her skin to transport small items.  This should have been a routine operation but something went wrong anyway and her immune system went haywire.  While medication managed to keep most of it under control, she still has a light allergy to soy.  Nothing more than a rash, but it could be annoying at times.

Personality/background Shin Nakata was born in Osaka from a Japanese father and an elf mother. Fortunately for the family, Shin could pass for a Japanese human, which helped him get through his childhood and mid twenties without any problems. However, talking about his elvish heritage was strictly forbidden at home. As a result, Shin despises his elvish roots and does not talk about them.

Shin's father, Muneo, was the head of a company dealing in logistics. Shiawase, as part of their massive shakeup, acquired Akakaze corp. Shin, having been groomed to head Akakaze after his father, was assimilated and immersed in Shiawase culture. After a while, factions started to see the Akakaze branch as a threat to their power and decided to dig for as much dirt as they could find. Shin's mother and his heritage was used against him to push him out of the company. As a result, his father was forced to perform harakiri (ritual suicide) in order to spare Shin's life. He was exiled to HK, where he learned to fend for himself out of the meeting rooms.

The factions responsible for Shin's exile grew stronger within Shiawase and wanted to finish what they intended to do in the first place: silence Shin in order to rid the company of the shame of having employed a "tainted" employee. Shin found the strength to once again leave everything behind and go to uncharted territories.

Shin has been living in Seattle for a few years now and is starting to get accustomed to his new environment.  Some habits are hard to kick though, and Shin enjoys living the “in-crowd” life: going out, spending, staying in nice hotels, etc. He has a habit of leaving a business card on his runs as a “signature”. On the cards is his former Shiawase employee code, something only a limited number of people know, and even less care about.
