Since it's been implied that the spread of Azzie's Path of the Sun is a substantial part of the Azzie Master Plan, I suggest that it should get more 'air time'. So far it's gotten a couple of mentions and no more. The most blatant example was in War! which makes a kind of sense - chaos of a conflict zone making opportunities. What about in sprawls like (from memory) Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Buenos Aires, Kiev, Barcelona, somewhere in Italy . . .
Food for thought?

Every city that hosts an Aztechnology center, rather than just quietly hosts a bunch of subsidiaries, has a pyramid that the Path uses for worship.
Sometimes, there's another one located soemwhere else, out of teh way, for bloodwork.
-
Yeah, but the PoS seems to be entirely in-house. No missionary activity going on apparently.
Is Aztechnology spreading its "obviously superior" culture exclusively through Stuffer Shacks et al? Or what?
-
You mistake the goal of Aztechnology's 'obviously superior' culture. It isn't to spread peacefully; it's to conquer. They don't want 'Nuevo Aztechnologicas' wannabes dressing up and camping out; they'll shoot or bespell everyone who resists, toss the rest into the slave pens, and be Lords of Creation™.
They have created throughout Aztlan a network of power to assist with that (as well as other things), and continue to do such worldwide ... using the pyramids that Wakshaani has mentioned. But don't even bother thinking that they want to absorb everyone else.

You just totally gave me an evil idea centered around an Aztechnology subsidiary winning the contract to provide homeless services...
Now can I combine that with the Ares Macrotechnology Maximum Security Prison/ Insect Spirit Hive...

nah...bugs need not apply. they are competition the Azzies don't want

Precisely. Would you want to get caught in the crossfire between blood mages and bugs?

heh. What about a Blood shaman getting invested..... then serving the Hive by summoning Blood spirits to fight along side of the flesh forms.....

Technically, you can bind Insect spirits, IIRC. Which means you could invoke a blood insect spirit. Blood Wasp Spirit?

Hehe. My group always fusses with me for giving the DM some of my Good Ideastm.
But you got to admit, if one of the Azzie blood mages ever went bug shaman, that's what you'd be looking at.

Blood Mage turned Bug Shaman...
Anyone else thinking that's a great jumping off point for a Horror cult leader attempting to establish a new Mana Bridge?
-
Nope. Bugs are scared of Horrors, since Horrors like to eat bugs just as much as they do Namegivers. Now, maybe if the Blood Mage/Bug Shaman was a former member of the Horror cult, and took a widget they needed for a powerful ritual to establish a new bridge, and the cult contacts some runners to do some bug hunting and retrieve their lost property, and then 'invites' them to stay for the ceremony once they've returned the widget...
And maybe a painted elf could show up at some point?

Oh, that is good... Now what could we do with the reverse of that transition (Bug Shammy to Blood Mage)?
-
Bug Shamans don't stay sane long enough to learn blood magic. Once they summon a Queen, they're usually disposed of.

Heh. Switch that up a little bit, let the new bug Shammy help his old group to build that bridge, but switch the destination to the Invae home plane......... And when it opens. oh look! A veritable buffet of new casters to invest!! How thoughtful of him.
Then the runners get hired to go save the cult members....... I would pay to be there and see the faces of the players when they figure out who they saved....
-
Get paid, then kill them all a split-second later. Yeah, I've come near 'runs like that. Actually, I'm sort of writing one like that ...
