Hey guys I am about to run a game and I am looking a excel or word doc that has the Metatypes, qualities and equipment.
I am not after full stats, just quick descriptions and page numbers from books. Then I can edit down for items I want available for the start of my campaign.
If no one has one or knows where I can find one to save me having to make one that would be great.
-
Metatypes and Qualities are listed at the back of Runner's Companion.
There is way, way, way to much equipment in Shadowrun to make a list worthwhile.
-
I completely forgot that set of tables was there, thanks for that.
And the amount of equipment is huge which and in multiple books which is why I was hoping someone had done it already to save me the job.
-
One of the booklets in the Runner's Toolkit is of compiled tables from Arsenal, Augmentation, Street Magic, and Unwired (and, of course, the main book).
-
And, if you have the cash, let me strongly recommend going with Hero Lab. It has compiled, searchable tables sorted by equipment category. Gonna cost some bank to get everything, though, since it's an official, licensed product and not a fan creation.
Of course, there's also Chummer. Chummer is totally free (being a "fan creation"), and has a complete list of gear with page references, but doesn't tell you what anything does since they can't legally reprint that info.

Thanks I will see if I can get chummer to run, thats sort of what I am after, but I was hoping for something printable so I can hand it round the table.
Hero lab is expensive seeing as I have most of the books already, I don't like paying twice for the same thing.

My thoughts exactly. Granted if Hero Lab were the same cost as buying one of the books to get it at full functionality, I'd jump on it.
-
I can also highly recommend hero lab. Especially for npc creation.
-
I am thinking I need to edit the first post to say I am skint so stop suggesting hero labs.
If I knew about it before I bought all the books then yepy great but I am skint and jobless after finishing uni so please stop suggesting it!

Right there with ya bro. In fact, I'd go a bit further into wishing people would stop buying it at the current ludicrous pricing to attempt to force them into making the pricing reasonable.

The only obstacle: the pricing is reasonable.

Let's not make this an argument. The OP says he doesn't have the money for Hero Lab, so (everyone) stop recommending it, (and/or analyzing it's value); end of story.

You are right, we shouldn't make this an argument - so stop saying that I recommended Hero Lab in the post of mine that you quoted when it is plain as day that I did no such thing and wasn't even speaking to the OP.

The post was targeted at everyone, more or less as a "stop bringing it up". The part that was targeted at you (and A4BG) specifically was "let's not make this an argument". Hero Lab's value is very much up to the individual, and no good will come of arguing price. No need to take it personally.

Don't quote just me and then claim you were also addressing someone else so I have no need to take it personally, that just plain disingenuous - you would have quoted, or at the very least actually addressed, both of us clearly if you weren't talking to only me.
Besides that, I'm not actually taking it personally beyond you putting words into my mouth, which is a completely uncalled for behavior no matter how write you might be that "stop suggesting it" really meant "never mention anything about it in this thread again."

You seem to be itching for a fight, so I'm just going to back out. If you want to believe that I was making a personal attack against you, that's your prerogative, but I'm not going to argue with you about it. Apologies if my comment came off as an attack against you; it wasn't intended to be, whatever you may think.

you could alway make photocopies and ring-bind them for easy reference if you have the books. Or if you have the books in PDF format make black & white prints (cheaper) and ring-bind those.
-
Have a look at Chummer - it mightn't be exactly what you want, but it is at least free, so you won't be out of pocket if it isn't ;)
-
Can the children arguing about hero lab please go sit in the corner until they can get back on track please?
For all that have suggested Chummer thanks for that. I will give it ago later today.

Um... nobody has posted in this thread for something like 4 days. I think the argument's already over.
In other news, remember to "activate" all the supplements you have from the settings menu, otherwise you're stuck with vanilla SR4A.
