Lurking Crow:

Alias: Lurking Crow
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Nationality: Cheyenne
Lifestyle: Middle
Nuyen: ¥2,600 4d6+12=26 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3715812/)
Karma Spent: 0
Armour: 6B/4I
Physical Description: 5'11", 31 years old, medium built, relatively short and black hair, piercing black eyes. Dark coloured skin, no visible tattoos nor scars.
Personality/background From his earliest memories, Lurking Crow was brought up in the traditions of the Dog. His tribe has always been guided and protected by the Dog spirit. To his parents' disappointment, the Dog seemed to show no interest in Lurking Crow for the great spirit of the Raven had already claimed him as one of his own.

As Lurking Crow grew into adolescence, behavioural patterns started to emerge: the burning loyalty that is dominant in followers of the Dog was lukewarm at best. Lurking Crow began prioritizing his own fate over the one of the tribe.

His life drastically changed around the age of 14. Lurking Crow, along with all able-bodied men of the tribe, had been tasked to find some elusive "dragon's paw" herbs to cure the tribe elder. After a few day's worth of search, Lurking Crow found a handful of it. He quickly went back to the tribe with a proposal: the herbs in exchange for a branch from the tribe's protective willow.

The chief called Lurking Crow's bluff. He didn't want to negotiate with a member of his own tribe over the health of one of the most respected members. After a long negotiation, Lurking crow was subdued and the herbs were taken from him. He was sentenced to exile from his tribe, never to come back. Lurking Crow vanished into the night, but not before stealing the branch he had sought.

After months of wandering, the great Raven spirit reached out to him and guided him to Whispering Breeze, a fellow Raven shaman. For the next years, Lurking Crow learned anything and everything he could from Whispering Breeze. With Whispering Breeze's help, Lurking Crow was able to carve the valuable willow's branch into a powerful item that both helped him channel his focus towards the art of magic and solidified his commitment to the Raven. One day, Lurking Crow woke up and Whispering Breeze was gone. He knew his apprenticeship was over. All that was left was a contact number.

Lurking Crow finally found his way to Seattle, making ends meet and eventually reconnecting with Whispering Breeze, although not in the teacher/pupil way he had been used to.

Through his dedication and effective methods, Lurking Crow shadowed an experienced wheelman and learned how to drive in a bid to get an edge over other potential recruits. As a result, he has been able to secure regular employment with Random Encounters Inc, albeit not on the A-team. Yet...

Right anymore questions or should I push the game along?

EDIT:
Also This run is out of one of the many books that Shadowrun consists. So when something really weird happens.... it was in the book I swear.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths

A lot of weird twists and turns ahead, huh?

Can't say....

So I think we're ready but I've not heard from Ympulse.

At work ATM, go ahead and set up the next step forward, Serious. We'll assume Meat sullenly gets his weapons and ammo and loads up on the AC-130

Right I'll post the update soon then.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: SeriousOne338 on <10-09-12/0837:59>
So are you heading to the Barracks at the airport or the sight of the terrorist attack?
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: HydroRaven on <10-09-12/0926:55>
Dropping by the barracks first for a quick introduction and then the temple.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: SeriousOne338 on <10-09-12/1423:52>
OK the file says the Barracks Attack site there were no survivors. So if you go there you're going to have to investigate. The Azltan defense forces here are in real disarray, the only strong force of them is here at the airport.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: Ympulse on <10-09-12/1447:07>
I think we meant the Airport barracks (assuming this is a military airbase-type thing)
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: HydroRaven on <10-09-12/1856:37>
We meant wherever the forces that have the city under martial law are.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: SeriousOne338 on <10-09-12/1859:01>
Ahh yes there is a local barracks at the airport its now the defacto Azltan head courters
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: SeriousOne338 on <10-10-12/1904:24>
Right perception check for meat: Like you've said Young and walking wounded. There is a battle map mapped out are 4 "Azltan Safe Zones" that are locked down, these places are not near any of your investigation targets. Look like th rest of the city is a free fire zone.

alrighty, thnx. It was Flak that did that. :-)

Right Ympulse.... Merlin has problems understand abstract concepts like "Being Shot at" and "non hostile..." remember he thinks hostiles are anything other than the hummer, and the team.  Basically the question you should ask yourself every time to ask him for help is What would a Kindigartener do, or how is the GM going to interpret that in a bad way. AKA how am I going to screw it up.  ;)

Basically I'm thinking of having Merlin open up on the crows and raven with a loud and long MMG burst....  ;D

Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths

No clue both were labeled "attacked" in your briefing document.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths

In order not to pollute the other thread, I'll just do my willpower check here.

Will 5 (5d6.hits(5)=1) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3730962/) Using edge to roll misses

Edge (4d6.hits(5)=0) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3730963/) Unlucky I guess :(

So down to 2 edge points and still a failed will check.

Sorry, it just hit me that Lurking Crow has some knowledge of spirits. He would probably be able to tell what kind of spirit he saw in his vision. I'm going to roll for that just in case the GM allows it (guess logic would attach to that? If not, disregard the last 3 rolls)

Spirit knowledge 4 + Logic 3 (7d6.hits(5)=0) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3734260/)
Ouch! Critical glitch. Man, I'm off to a really bad start here.

There is a five story building adjacent tot he park looks like it's been hit by and explosion. That'd give you a good view, also the building is across the park near the sports field and where Crow's standing.

Post by: vinnmun on <10-15-12/1419:48>
I'm going to stand on top of the building and outlook, which should give me eyes on Crow as he moves around. ympulse is in the middle in the hummer securing the peremeter right? I figure we're more spread out than split up....but if we are getting to far, I'd rather we keep together a bit I guess.

Haven't posted absolute position, but an MG will cover enough ground to have half the field "secure"

I can always tell Merlin that he's weapons-free :D

BTW post inc in a few hours.

Well I'm siting here and thinking the three players are splitting up or fanning out way wide... and I have this evil plan....and well.... your making it too easy. Like waving the a brain in front of a horde of zombies screaming Eat me at the top of your lungs.

you might want to think about the whole paranoia thing and what I have planned.

I guess we could reason with them, but I don't think anybody speaks Spanish in the group, right?

any bonus dice for pointing a gun and having support from a big guy with a big gun?

they are afraid so no they want to run more so your ganna have trouble keeping them there to interrogate. Actually with there mind set it would be more of a negative than a bonus having meat drawing down on them.

Really? State your point, not rules wise because I'd state they want to run not stay and talk. So if you can see some reason why a terrified person would be more willing to talk to someone offering violence instead of running for they're life. IF you'd pinned them in CC then sure that might work but they'd rather run that take chances with you guys.

Also on an unrelated note:
Right, I am going on vacation on Tuesday for a week and then some. I will try and update while I'm out but I am going hunting so being stuck in the bush will make it hard for me to update the game. That being said I will make it a point to check on this game everyday I can.

So no pressure.

Honestly, Vin, I don't think we're gonna get them to stop without some edge being spent. If you want to do that, go for it, but my money's on this being a dry hole, or only getting circumstantial information. The cameras probably don't have anything we could use either, but at least those aren't running away.

So yeah, my vote is we get what we can here and pack up and head to the other site, since we're on a timeline with the locals.

Kinda got nothing on this one, we planned on going for food and than to the barracks right?

Post by: HydroRaven on <11-16-12/0221:14>
That's right. And drop off the camera drive while getting food.

so heading back to the airport? or are you trying to find a local place? Remember this city is in lock down when the sun goes down they expect militias to be on the streets, so they might fight you guys.

Post by: HydroRaven on <11-16-12/1109:56>
No, I think we were going more along the lines of going back to the base, dropping off the drive for a courier to overnight it to HQ, have lunch and then head out to the barracks. But it all depends on what time it is when the team leaves the pyramid site.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: SeriousOne338 on <11-16-12/1122:17>
I'm going to take a guess and say sweeping the pyramid site took most of the day.

Post by: HydroRaven on <11-17-12/0121:22>
Alright, then in that case it's probably better to shoot straight to the barracks, but I'll let the others chime in before making this our official course of action.
Title: Re: [OOC] Into the Depths
Post by: vinnmun on <11-17-12/0249:55>
I have nothing to chime in until we either find out what was on the drive and / or we are at the barracks.

Right, I have to ask because the Barracks is which one?

The site of the Attack

Or?

The Airport operation base?

Dropping off Drive at the Airport then going to the Site of the attack.

- Pretty sure that's the order of operations

Right its been to quite everyone make a perception check (threshold 4) if you succeed you'll notice before things get interesting.

Here goes:

Perception 2 + Intuition 3 (5d6.hits(5)=1) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3794801/) and a glitch. Invisible Castle really has it in for my character.

Spending an edge to add to the roll.

Perception 1 + Intuition 4 + Edge 5
10d6.hits(5)=5 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3794843/)
5 hits, not going to reroll sixes

Just a side-note, Crow wasn't eating before the ambush, since he was at the wheel. He just doesn't trust Merlin getting them where they need to, so he drove the whole way.

It would be the Goonz turn  ;D, we're still working out the ambush phase. Then you guys roll initiative and decide who in the group goes first.
