Title: Denver Information
Post by: GloriousRuse on <11-25-12/0045:11>
So, my players recently botched a run badly in Manhattan and are now in the process of getting out of dodge. They will be leaving the big apple and its likely very angry Investment firms, Vory, and NYPD Inc behind for a bit. They've decided to head to Denver. Besides the 6th world almanac, is there any good source info on Denver? Some pertinent questions:

Policing: My understanding is that each sector is policed internally by the owners, with cross sector crime and the sector borders being handled by the Zone Defense Force. Is this correct? If so, who holds the contract for each sector?

Crossing Borders: Right now it sounds like the sectors are split by their own Berlin Wall style things, with designated border crossing points. I gather you can go through those, cross via the maglev which has ZDF customs types on board, or go the long way around through the desert. Is that correct? Are there other ways?

There are always other ways, if you're willing to pay enough. Several smugglers have routesover, under, or through the walls in certain areas, and border guards are humans, not paragons ... a little kaching will grease the wheels of passage in many situations. There's also the simple fact that, as there are several different countries, and extra-territorial corps, in the mix, each has a unique set of laws, so, you can safely take certain things into certain areas... getting there is the hard part, but if, say, you're waiting in line for the Azzie sector (well, back when it existed) and they find a bunch of drugs and BTLs in your car, they'll ask you if you're looking for recreational use or trafficing, allow you to buy a vending license if the latter, and wave you on your merry way.

Of course, things have changed since Zebulon came around. Things are ... interesting ... right now.

Unstable and amazing are the words you're looking for Wakshaani. My current playgroup is there, though I believe we have our eyes set on Montreal in the future....

And dont forget http://secure.commandohq.com/download/Files/Commando_Quarterly_1Q-06-lowres.pdf

Crossing borders is explained in the first mission of season 2. Usually a bribe is all thats needed, though there are smugling routes too. If you have a real sin its easy.

"Audio notation: Security checkpoint seven, car#214. Items include Slam-it! cola, one, Ares Hermes-3 Commlink, ColtAmerica L36 pistol, unloaded, money clip..."

"I need to get into the sector in the express lane, please."

*plucks the money clip dry* "...empty. Nothing else to report. Have a nice day in the sector, citizen."

Replace Money Clip with Cerified Credstick and I think you're spot on. ;)
