Hello everybody!
(Hi doctor Nick!)
I'm very new to the game and I'm trying to learn enough of it to DM for some friend of mine but the whole terminology and all the abilities and possibilities are just overwhelming. I've tried to read the quickstart but the general text just feels like it has too little info while the gameplay boxes have too much.
So my question is to you, are there any other sources which gives examples of gameplay and how things interact with each other beside the quickstart?
I currently own the 20th anniversary core book.

Pick up the missions series, or one of the campaigns (Dawn of the Artifacts, Corporate Intrigue, etc.). Just like with D&D modules, these provide a good framework for a new DM to run a game. Also, grab the Runner's Toolkit. The two best things there are cheat sheets for common things (like spellcasting and matrix combat) and the Anatomy of a Shadowrun, which provides a side-by-side rundown of a run with a story on one side and game info on the other, including which rolls people are making.

Also spend some time reading the stories throughout the book. They give a good idea about how the sixth world works.
For specifics I have found these quite helpful in learning the system:

I recommend picking something simple to start if everyone at the table is new. Maybe just stick to ranged or melee combat and once you're comfortable with that then start looking at magic or hacking. Another option if it is available to you is to see if maybe someone is willing to do a one shot online game over skype or something. I've lurked around these forums for some time before I ever started posting and the majority of people are extremely helpful. If you ever have questions just post them and someone will answer. Try to be as specific as possible and don't worry about stupid questions. One or two people might tease you but we'll hate them on your behalf and you can be sure someone will eventually get your answer.
