Title: Dwarf Spike Babies?
Post by: elementar2k3 on <01-04-13/0118:48>
there is waay more to it (pages and pages), but first i needed to know, through cannon, if dwarves can be spike babies too or was that idea only reserved for those pointy eared dandelion eaters?

    This is the concept:

I was thinking of a character that was a Dwarf spike baby born in the 1600's in Florida During a Katrina dwarfing (no pun intended) hurricane (brief Manastorm), who was Dream Spirit Pact'd at birth.
The house where she was born was in an astral shallow that only manifested because of the Storm.  The African shaman/slave knew of this spot and time of the storm because of dream communing with her ancestor spirit. (using a variant of the "chaffering with spirits" rules RUNNING WILD p. 174).
The ritual was done to bring a warrior/savior to free the female shamans from their oppressors. What they got was an angry spirit (mad it would only be on this plane for the briefest of moments) who began killing all the participants of the ritual. before she died the head shaman forced the spirit into a pact with the newborn "deformed" "blessed" child, With the promise of being able to stay on this plane indefinitely  and now has been around ever since.
After the storm the spirit had no real power on this plane and manifested (made its presence known) in ways that made the child seem to have schizophrenia (the Dream pact skewed because of the low/no mana level).  The girl aged to a point (21?) and aged slowly after that.
During her life she was drawn around the world (again the spirit's slight influence) to other wild weather  phenomena (storms with other brief mana sparks) that would reset her age(the spirit being able assert some power to assure its' life and hers.)  When the awakening happened her age was reset to 21 permanently.
Fast forward to today 2074 the spirit is a possession spirit which has caused the "vessel" to become a stim addict because when the the spirit gains control it causes all kinds of havoc trying to even slightly fulfill its original bargain; to free oppressed women from the clutches of abusing men. soo she tries not to go to sleep ...ever.

The PC would have a lot of Knowledge skills the Dream Pact and a spirit knack.
The way i was going to interpret  summoning/binding is that her hits on either test is how much the spirit is willing to listen to her and how much she is willing to do for the PC until it gets fed up (no services left).  when the PC falls asleep the spirit has free reign and has Karma drain (prolonged havoc/torture/reeeally rough sex.)
I was going to make it a guardian spirit, so it will also be the teams close combat specialist.

I was thinking of a classic hulk/bruce banner type pc.

There's nothing in canon, as far as I can recall, about dwarf spike babies. Go for it!

There definitely could have been dwarven spike babies. However, dwarves only live a couple hundred years, right? And a Dream Pact wouldn't extend their life, only the pact where the person becomes a copy of the spirit's formula does that.
