Title: Help buying laptop.
Post by: Orvich on <01-04-13/1641:57>
I'm woefully unaware when it comes to computing specifics, though I know the generals. Is this computer worth the price? Is there a better computer with comparable price and better specs I can pick up elsewhere? I'd like to stick with Windows 7 (better than vista/8, yes?) if possible.

I've got an old $100 worth of giftcard cash for amazon, so I want to stick there, unless there's a fantastic deal elsewhere. I'm just a bit nervous, I want to be sure to minimize buyer's remorse as much as possible.

Biggest question would be: what will be primary use of the new laptop?

Mostly casual stuff. I will be doing some gaming on it, but I don't need a ripped out gaming laptop. On the other hand, I do sort of want to get the best computer that a casual shopper can get with ~$300-$400, and not feel ripped-off.

I got a Toshiba, and while being a 'budget' type laptop, I haven't had any problems with it.

Got a Toshiba as well, and works fine:
- I7 processor
- 4gb ram
- Nvidea video card

Not a powerful gaming computer, but plays all current games fine.
