So, given the chance to storm an ares black ops research facility, currently on lockdown, what would you bring? What would you need, minimum? What would you like? What would you wish list if you had a month to prepare and gobs.of money to spend? Any special items if back-up isn't likely to arrive to stop you? Or if it is?

What if you are likely to run into bugs? I can't wait to see what genius combinations or mundane utility items I never thought of y'all come up with.

You know the old saying.  Fight fire with fire.  In this case, it's more like 'fight spirits with spirits' and 'fight black ops research facilities with military-grade aircraft'.
Remember, you don't have to kill the vehicle to stop it, just kill the guy driving it.

Ok, being subtle is not the issue here.
Take plenty of heavy weaponary, and explosives. Magic support will be critical.
Have more than one way out, just in case your cut off. Medkits and healing spells, stim patch for the mage. Use your surroundings, look for options. Gecko gloves etc may help for elevator shafts. Your inside a building, grenades will either save you or kill you. Don't bother with long range, expect to get up close... Automatic shotguns clean corridors quickly. Keep some stick n shock, works well againsy spirits.

Heavily armed drones, some air support and as much armour as you can wear. High velocity weapons, rapid firing grenade launchers and HMG are all gravy for a mission like this.
Get as much healing capability on the squad as possible because you WILL get shot up.
A good matrix man would be handy to do the data stealing and open doors, but make sure he has some wired/optical capability too as you wont find much wifi in there!

Are you trying to destroy the facility or retrieve something/someone?

Because if it's the former, powerdiving a cargo aircraft filled with a few tons of thermite into the place is pretty effective.

More like working with some people  involved with the project to retake the facility. So minimal collateral. Likely speed bumps include automatic internal defenses, escaped/compromised reasearch prototypes, bug invested populace, and potentially bumbling team mates.

Can you put stick 'n' shock in a Thor launcher? Subdue them all in one hit and take your time with the doors.

I just love both of these responses. So much.

Mainly I know what I'm doing already. I just really wanted to know how most people would go about this with their current/favorite runners.

Dried leaves, check. Thermographic binoculars, check. Oversized foci, check.

What would you do with those?

Food, vision, pack mule for the weak mage.
Power corrupts.
Absolute power is kinda neat.

Quite close. It was my shaman's stuff, he's carrying it himself. Food, yes, correct. Vision, yes. And the staff power focus. I get made fun of for making it larger than you need to for a focus. Can cause hassles. I've had to invisible it at times to hide it.

One of my characters is in the middle of what was originally thought to be an infiltration but has turned into an all out assault (so we're being paid twice; once to extract a target, and once to retake the facility while extracting said target. Assuming we can slip the guy out past our allies). Here's the stuff we brought:

Large crate (for stealing a nexus full of corporate secrets, to be decrypted later in the comfort of our bus/mobile home).
A large crate's worth of defective Bust-a-moves dolls obtained cheaply from the Johnson, their defective programming replaced with a very simple OS with only two instructions: to wander around freely through the facility full of dangerous projects and sensitive research, and to call out, "ooo, what does THIS button do!?"
Two Nissan Doberman drones equipped with a laser rifle and a squirt gun (both given to us by our allies, since we're the ones dumb enough to enter the place). Squirt gun filled with chemicals that burst into flame on contact with the air (the hostiles are vulnerable to fire and lasers, we learned that much at the front gate when we incapacitated a few with the mage's overcast Orgy spell and then did a little...experimenting).
A "biodrone" in the form of our team's Sammie, a Ghoul biosculpted to look like an anthromorphic dragoness, being both heavily armored enough to be a good meatshield for the rest of us, and armed with an assault rifle with an underbarrel grenade launcher with white phosphorous grenades.
A mage with high Assensing and a variety of useful manipulation spells.
A willingness to think in ways that defy common sense, logic, and morality.

So far the GM has expressed considerable admiration of our ability to survive the situation. He hadn't actually expected us to get this far through the adventure so quickly.

(Though I will note that we left the crate outside. The hostiles have the power to infect drones and machines and turn them into hostile technomagical monster things. So it's no good letting the drones wander about, alas. I'll have to save them for next time. Maybe upgrade their programming to be more versaitile)
