Just a quick question, with perhaps not so much of a quick answer. One of the players in my game is looking at playing a Combat Medic/Demolitionist with a focus on breaching.

So the big question is, is breaching something worth investing in for Missions play? Are the missions flexible enough to allow this kind of dynamic entry? (and if so, any advice for how to handle it?!) Or is it something that's not really going to be able to pay off?

It won't pay off too often, depending on the mission being run.  But as long as he doesn't skimp on his other combat skill trainings, he should be fine.  The real trick is preparation - a lot of teams will just kick in doors.  Others will allow this guy to prep his charges in advance.  I'd recommend for this guy to pick up at least one of the gun skills and Throwing Weapons (for grenades) in addition to Demolitions and First Aid.  Medicine will be next to useless, and unless he was an actual doctor or nurse at some point in his story he'd probably only have First Aid anyway.  Military medics are essentially combat-trained EMTs.  Lifesavers to be sure, but they can't possibly perform surgery under most conditions.

Bullets & Bandages has a great section on how to create a good field medic character, and the points made in that section are applicable to Missions games too.

Viktor is to be liking the summon of earth elementals to assist in placing charges under buildings.

Dropping entire building into basement is wonderful for getting attention.

Throwing weapons, specialization 'sticky bomb'.  Chuck C-12 at a door, be good enough to eliminate the scatter and put them in just the right place, then *BREACH!!*

... works on trolls, too.  Now I'm really liking this idea.

yeah I've always really liked the demo/medic combo. It's nicely stat effective, and a lot of roleplaying fun. I'd maybe get some chemistry/chem knowledge and such too, so you could sneak explosive chemicals around disguised as medical supplies and mix on site. A good fake DocWagon license, and you're set to cause some chaos.
