Assuming before Lockdown comes out, is the term "CFD" common knowledge? What does the general public know about what is going on (again, before Lockdown comes out)? I only ask because runners clearly have a fair amount of info, but I'm not sure where the public info overlaps. I may have just missed something.

Thank you in advance.

We aren't really sure what the timeline is going to be for Lockdown, though assume it will take place in 2076 after the events of Stolen Souls.  By the timeline in Stolen Souls the term "CFD" is getting to be more known among the people that pay attention to this kind of thing.  Executives have known about it for a year or so, shadowrunners are learning about it (though some know way more than others), but the general public is still unaware.  It's talked about in Stolen Souls that the corporations are hoping to put CFD to bed before the general public learns about it - but they're failing.

Thank you Nami. I appreciate it. Have some runners making their way to Boston soon, so wanted to know how much the public would know, & what the general vibe would be. :)

It would be quite interesting to do a campaign where the players get caught in the events of Lockdown!.  That's my intention anyway - don't tell them that though, they read these forums!  I'd love to wrap up our campaign right as the book comes out, and give the characters a reason to go to Boston.  One of the characters has REALLY deep ties to NeoNET, so that shouldn't be too hard.

Let us know how your campaign goes - war stories are always great.  :)

My players pretty much avoid the forums, so no worries there. I try to run my game in "real time sync" with books as they come out, so I like what is going to happen there.

Not that it matters. They're going there on a run to help out a friend ("feel good run"), but someone they owe is gonna call in a favor first. Help their friend & burn a powerful contact whom they legit owe? Be interesting to see which they pick.

Highjacking this thread for some questions on my own:

1. In Hazard Pay in the space section, a Person named Polaris does a lot of suspicious stuff, e.g. somehow controlling Dr. Sanderson into airlocking herself.
I have not been able to find anything about Polaris since then, neither have i found something about the Drone.

2. Also, excluding Stolen Souls, are there any news about Gagarin since it came back online? Especially about it coming back online?

3. I have understood, that Jack wasn't present at the run on the albaquerque facility. So CFD seems to be able to spread via Matrix alone, is that correct?

4. Are there any news about Plan 9's current status? To specify: Is he infected? How did he remain himself. Is he still part of the Jackpoint? Most importantly: Where can i read about it.....im a huge fan of him^^

thats it for now, im sure I will remember dozens of the other questions I have, once I press submit.....

no one yet? well np, I got more :D

In Stolen Souls one of the Fragmented had an "upload" (fairly at the start), where he talked about a "Sybil". Have I understood this correct, there was one initial being which freed itself and originating from that one, every other cfd personality came to existance?
If not, how do I read this part?

(in the german Stolen Souls, its on Page 27....)

Plan 9 is still part of JP (or back on JP, to be more accurate), but on probation.  ~His already fragmented psyche made adapting to CFD easier (but by no means easy) than it would otherwise be.

In Storm Front he said "As me as I ever was"
Have there been any notable changes in his personality whatsoever? Or did the CFD personality just fit right in there?

As I see it the CFD personality just kinda meshed in with the rest of Plan 9's craziness.

I'm curious to see how it all plays out and can't wait to run them for my group. I am currently playing SRC and have the lock down book. I haven't read it but from I have skimmed of it, it should be quite fun to throw my runners into the mix.  ;D
