How exactly do the drake armor powers work? Does it stack with existing armor? Is the higher value used? Until you spend loads of karma, it doesn't seem like it would ever be used if it didn't stack.

Armor doesn't stack unless it explicitly says it does (e.g. ballistic helmets). You take the higher value.

However IIRC even if the base armor points don't stack, modifications and specialty resistances CAN stack. So if you're wearing MilSpec over Armored Clothing, and the Armored clothing has Electrical Resistance but the MilSpec doesn't, you would still use the Electrical Resistance dice of the Armored Clothing versus an electrical attack.

(Away from my books atm) - it's the drake armor power in Howling Shadows. Same as the hardened armor power on 397ish Core (iirc). I remember that armor doesn't typically stack, but I thought Run n Gun had a section about armor locations stacking (I'd have to find it again).

Idk, though hardened armor 2 just seems pretty worthless by itself unless I'm missing something.

Well, that's 2 extra resist dice and 1 auto success.... so its something.

And considering you can't really wear traditional armor as a drake, (being that you are a mini flying lizard, and NOT a metahuman), is better than nothing.

For 10% more a drake can get normal armor made to expand.
The Hardened Armor should be treated like Troll dermal plates - added to your other armor with the extra benefit of one automatic soak

Thanks for the feedback. That seems right on the low end, I just wasn't sure about the high end... Of course, spending 230ish karma on armor does seem a bit excessive.

How social is the drake? Does he/she have friends? If so create specialized Peel-N-Stick Armor For Drakes.
ie is there are market for drake peel-n-stick armor Drake like there is for vehicles? Should I form a company? Maybe buy Stock? And sit back and let the $$$ roll in.

Prepare for a very limited market response. 
Any "affiliated" drake already has a very wealthy great dragon (holding their leash) to outfit them with as good of armor if not better, or working for the Draco Foundation (who is similarly well equipped; thanks Uncle Dunkle!)
Every other drake is on the run from the great dragons who want their "property" back.

The latter demographic is your best market; unfortunately going underground kind of puts a damper on shopping for specialty duds in the "conventional" manner (read; those typically run by publicly traded companies).
Even if you somehow find your clientele in the shadows, prepare for competition. Necessity is the mother of invention, and the shadow dwellers tend to make their own, for their own by necessity.
