Riggers: VCR vs Vehicle Skill

Most riggers are going to have a very high Reaction.  As you get into the higher rated VCRs do you really need to invest heavily into vehicle skills?

Lets say you buy reaction up to 5 at creation and have level 3 Reaction Enhancers you have a Reaction of 8.  Then you buy R3 VCR (used).  While jumped in have 8 (REA) + 3 (VCR) + 1? (VR).  That is 12 dice before vehicle skill, specialization, or qualities (and I may have the VR bonus wrong)

I certainly wouldn't advocate defaulting, but if you put ¥ >> skills at creation what does vehicle skill get you?

What do you get? The ability to use those VCR enhanced Limits for pretty much every Vehicle test.
Sure, you could skimp on your skills, but then you're just wasting the potential you bought with the (very expensive) VCR.

That's enough to jump a vehicle over an obstacle while driving through a space barely wide enough for the vehicle. while ramping the vehicle through the air rolling it just enough to have a hook from an overhanging crane knock the bomb off the bottom of the vehicle...

Control rig 3 reduces thresholds by 3.
R3 Control Rig threshold reduction is effectively another 9 dice..on top of the 15 above...is approximately equal to 24 dice. 

I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing some non-obvious use for pilot skills other than moving the vehicle.

A Transporter is effectively one of the easiest builds...

Now, what to do with the rest of your attributes, skills and resources... hmmmm, decisions, decisions.
