I know you can use trace icon to find a decker from where ever hes hacking from. Is there something similar for tracing riggers?  Lets say you are facing a drone controlled by a rigger 1km away.

I would assume you can attempt to hack that drone, using the rigger's RCC stats as its defenses, and then if successful you are "in" the RCC and can make a matrix perception check to find other drones or slaved devices on the RCC. At this point can you use trace icon to learn the physical location of the RCC and/or the other devices connected to it?

Trace Icon is the correct action to use.  The Drone is likely part of the Rigger's PAN so the Rigger's Persona is a target-able Icon.

Unless the drone is operating remotely under autopilot and the rigger is not networked to it ... yes

In SR5 there was a red box labeled Uses of Snoop with the following text:

SR5 p. 242 Uses of Snoop
Snooping is often used for more than just eavesdropping. If your target makes a commcall, you can note the person they called and try to find them online with a Matrix Perception action; if they’re within 100 meters, you spot them right away (if they’re not running silent; if they are, then it’s back to the Matrix Perception Test).

Translated to SR6 and the case where you have a drone that is is operating remotely under autopilot and the rigger is not networked to it....

...would you say it is possible to Snoop all matrix traffic sent to and from the drone (after first gaining Admin access to it). And once the rigger send new instructions to the drone you take a Matrix Perception test to spot the rigger's PA (and once you infiltrated his PAN with Admin access you use Trace Icon to get his physical location)?

Yes I would agree with that
