Here are some more drone questions...

pg 197 says this...

Quote
Along with its defensive capabilities, an RCC can
run autosofts and can share them out to all slaved
drones. The number of programs and autosofts it can
share out is equal to the RCC’s Data Processing rating.

Does the "number it can share out" incorporate both drone and program?  For example, I have Maneuver 6 and Evasion 6 running on my RCC, and I have three medium drones.  I want to let all of them use these programs.  Is this 2 "shares" (one for each program) or 6 "shares" (3 drones x 2 programs)?

Follow-up: a single program can be shared out multiple times, right?  Like I don't need three purchased copies of Evasion 6 running to share out to those three drones above, one copy is enough?

Finally, autosofts don't take up more "space" at higher ratings, right?  Evasion 3 and Evasion 6 both count as a single program?

In 6we, it appears that you no longer have to pick between running Autosofts on the RCC or the Drone- you can do both.  And I can't think of any reason why the Autosofts running locally on a Drone affect the RCC's limit.

Followup answer: I do believe that if you want the same Autosoft running on 3 drones, you do have to buy it 3 times.  Or, just one copy shared to all drones if run on the RCC.

Final question: That's correct- programs are binary in size.  Rating 6 takes up the same number of slots as Rating 1.
RPG mechanics exist to give structure and consistency to the game world, true, but at the end of the day, you’re fighting dragons with algebra and random number generators.

That would be 2 "shares"  one for each autosoft.
While the RCC description doesnt mention anything about it limiting the drones own autosofts. The autosoft description on page 201,  describes the drone and RCC interaction in a way that it could be understood thats its either RCC autosoft OR autopilot autosoft.
" If a drone is slaved to a
rigger command console, it uses the programs run-
ning on the RCC. This can exceed its normal limit. "

Dunno, maybe it can run both at the same time, or maybe its like in 5th edition, whete it wad either or.
