Do Technomancers have some kind of innate data storage?  Can they copy a file onto their living persona, or do they need a separate device to do so?

If he can, would that be protected by their persona, meaning someone would have to hack into their persona, not their devices, to get at it?  Could someone do that?

As an example, to try and avoid being even more confusing.

Super Squiq the technomancer also carries a commlink which he has formed into a PAN with his Stun Baton, Mono Whip, and Concealable holster.  He hacks into Mitsuhama and finds the data file proving that the exec is stealing from the company.  Can he store this in his personal persona, or does it have to be one his commlink.

Assuming Squig can store it on his persona, when the hacker hired by the exec finds him and hacks into Squig's PAN, the hacker can access his devices, but not his persona, I assume.  Would the hacker have to hack into his persona to find the file?  Can someone hack into a persona like that?  Can a technomancer reboot themselves to clear OS or dump an invading hacker?

Sorry, that got a little long, but I hope it's clear.

Just because I haven't been banned for being annoying yet, two more question.

I know it's unlikely, but since the Technomancer is a device, could Super Squig slave himself to a commlink?  Say he was hit with a decrease willpower spell and his willpower is tanked.  Can he hide behind his commlinks firewall?

And, can Technomancers run cold sim on their personas?

Technomancers don't have storage space inside their persona and they are not devices.

(but even in 2019 there are so many places where you can drop files or images or whatever even if you don't wish to save it locally on your own device - I don't see how this would be an issue at all in SR6).

Technomancers may also (unless things changed in this edition) choose to shut down their persona and instead use a persona based upon a device. In that case they would use the firewall, data processing and matrix condition monitor of the device (such as a commlink). Note that if you are not using your living persona then you would also not have access to your resonance actions...

In this edition technomancers are allowed to use cold-sim VR, yes (as well as AR and hot-sim VR).

So any technomancer who wants to keep a file safe would need to carry some kind of device to store it in and, unless he has Living Network, he can't put that in a PAN with his living persona and protect it that way, correct?  Just trying to make sure I get it.  So he is going to want a high end commlink with good firewall to keep the file safe
