Spoilers

I've been running On the Run for a while now (short game sessions coupled with heavy role-playing, we get through about a section/chapter a night) and one thing that's been clawing at the back of my brain is the background to the main Johnson for the adventure. The write up at the end says, "Note that Darius (St. George)’s employer is purposely kept secret—neither the runners nor the gamemaster will know who it is at this point, and there is no way for them to find out. This adventure may tie in to future Shadowrun adventures where the employer’s identity will be ultimately revealed." Even in the pdf of the copy of the adventure in the Runner's Toolkit.

However, I haven't come across anything in my reading of other SR material that has hinted at what's going on (though not finished with Attitude, I have finished the music section and nothing stood out).

Does anyone know if this plot has been dropped or detailed somewhere? If it has been dropped or it is not detailed anywhere (or both) then I'm cool with that...I just know that my players are pretty pissed at being lied to about the Johnson saying that the chip was stolen from his employer and they're most likely going to start doing some heavy background checking in the future and need to develop something soon if there aren't any external leads to go on. :)

So far, I don't think anything has come up. On the other side, if the PCs start a heavy back ground check, you should give them information that surrounds the Johnson which is not specifically about him. There are people that are unreachable in SR that no amount of digging will turn up.

Thanks. Yeah, I never mind the "unreachable" NPC...I just like to have a justification/background-story as to why they're unreachable on hand :) Maybe the new adventure that came out, A Fistful of Credits has something :)

Ya, there is not much to say about that. I find it strange why the missions would do something like that. Usually when the PCs cannot find out on their own about their Johnson they reach out as far as their influence goes to get some sort of idea.
