Hey Everyone!

So I was just interested in what everyone thinks about my SURGE hacker I'm using in my party's campaign. A few quick notes first.

1) [If you don't understand SURGE] Being a SURGE gives me an additional X amount of qualities on top of the 35 BP qualities I'm allowed.

2) My GM was nice enough to let me go over the 35 limit because a lot of my qualities were chosen due to my character's back story (they have a separate section)

3) My GM was also nice enough to say I came with a few metagenetic qualities by default and gave me all the programs at a measly rating 2 so i could be useful.

4) Our White mage (as we call him) Spent all his karma to give us +3 initiative and +3 passes.

5) My character is already in play! There have been some things I have bought with Karma!

6) We started at Rock Bottom so my party is receiving more karma and newyen then usual.

**NOTE: Pilot Skill group does not exist. I use it to REFER to all the pilot skills which were ranked up as separate skills. Also I spent spare Karma on my computer skill which is why it is separate from Electronics.

**EDIT: Made some changes of clarity. Added Distinct Style to Negative Qualities. Forgot the biggest thing, we started with 300 BP instead of the usual 400.

Ok what your GM gives you as extra is fine and dandy.

Are you starting out with little to no equipment?  There is no mention of than and you have nect to nothing for equipment, armor, weapons, etc.

Skill groups can not start higher than 4.  Cracking needs to be dropped to 4.   In all reality you really only need hacking and EW..    If you want/need to keep the hacking group take the 10 from dropping down to 4 and raise electronics group to 3.

Electronics skill group has the computer skill in it.  You have both and its redundant.   Drop Computers and raise electronics group by 1.

Pilot skill group = Meh

Lack of cyber/bioware.  Not sure if this is because of your background but you can benefit greatly from several pieces of ware.

Better comlink and programs.  Again not sure if this is because of your background.

Haven't crunched the numbers but it seems to me that you should have BP left over.

Also, you take 8 BP worth of Unarmed Combat, then buy an Activesoft of Unarmed Combat that is only one point higher...what? Why waste 8 BP on a skill you plan on using Activesoft for? + What was mentioned above. Clone and Evil Twin seem to be counter to each other as far as benefits, but may be relevant to the RP (so props if GM gave you a free pass on those).

I think your skills are a bit funny.

As mentioned, skill groups cap at 5.

Electronics includes Computer.

There's no Pilot skill group.

High Pain Tolerance is real crap, and you'd be better off spending the points on Body and Willpower if you want to be tough.

What are your Aptitude and Codeslinger in?

You forgot one... you automatically get "Distinctive Style"  a negative quality for taking changeling.  And you don't get any points for it.

Given how weird he is... wouldn't be shocked if the GM gives it to you at the maximum rating offsetting some of the wierdness in allowing way too many other qualities.

Ah Yes. We started at rock bottom so all we has was the clothes we woke up in an whatever we stole from people.

The reason i have both computers and Electronics is because I had some spare Karma left over and I needed that extra point in computers.

I list it as Pilot skill group because there are 6 pilot skills and they have no group (kind of stupid in my opinion not to group them) and we do not have a drone rigger so I dabble with it to fill the role.

I realize that I am lacking in cyber/bio ware and there is a list of things I'd like to get but I simply do not have the newyen to get it yet.

I actually got my current comlink from an assassin who tried to kill one of my party members. We (our troll) subdued him and we stole his comlink.

My aptitude is for Hacking and Codeslinger is for Exploit so I have an easier time getting admin. Added that in to the sheet.

I see. They need to make those things more noticeable in the books.

I spent Karma for Unarmed Combat not BP

I was also under the assumption that the activesoft would stack with my unarmed combat skill. I will look into it.

Computers is part of the Electronics skill group.   By dropping the computers skill, gaining 12 bp back.  you can then raise the electronics skill group by one, leaving 2 bp left over, and still have computers at 3.   Having both the electronics skill group and the computer skill is a waste of bp as they will not stack.

Also you need to drop the cracking group down to 4.   4 is te max at character gen that any skill group
can start at.   This also frees up 10 bp allowing you to raise electronics group, that has computer in it, up to 4.

Skills and active sorts do not stack.   Pick one or the other.

If your GM is allowing you to make up a skill group (pilot all).  Lucky you.  It's not in the rules for a reason.   Just because you can drive a car or bike doesn't mean you can pilot a plane.  You are trying to get 6 skills for 10 bp that would cost 24 bp otherwise.  It's OP.

And having bp left over is unheard of.  heh.  If you have bp left over get more skills.
