I'm currently writing up Roanapur as a setting based on the island of Tarutao in Thailand, a pirate haven and free city off the coast of the Islamic Republic of Pattiti. SR backstory and conflict in south asia allows easy replacement of vietnam vet's etc easily. backstory also gives huge scope for gaming in the area, Shadows of Asia, Cyberpirates and Smugglers Havens are invaluable for the setting and feel of the area.
