When I read this thread all I could imagine is the DM giving the campaign intro speech with "Bad Boys" song playing in the background.....

What types of calls the PCs get sent on depends on what their characters can handle, the department they work for, and the city they are in.  But, for some specific examples...

In the Runner's Toolkit "On The Run", KE gets sent to the mall to stop a brewing gang war between the Orks and the Tech-dudes (actual names changed to protect nobody because I can't remember them), and the runners are there when KE shows up.  You could use a situation similar to that to help turn the characters from cops to runners.

Drug busts are always fun.  Especially if one of the characters has an addiction of some kind.  "Um, where did the evidence go?"  "*Snort* *Snort* I have no clue, man.  But those 2 martians in the land rover might know."

You could have them respond to calls from local saloons to break up bar fights.  Nothing stops a couple of drunken unaugmented humans from fighting quicker than a cybered troll with a badge.

Domestic violence is good.  Especially in barrens where rednecks might call a place home.  "Well, shit - she wouldn't take no for an answer, so I had ta beat her senseles."  "Sir, your daughter is only 7."  "And if she wants to make it to 8, she better not sneak out looking like an ork hooker again!"

When I lived in the midwest, one of the radio stations had a daily thing on the morning show called "Small Town Crime Wave".  The guys would read police calls like:

1.  Police responded to a report of a man running nude through the downtown area. When apprehend by police, the man promised he would not run around naked again. However, he informed officers that the voices in his head were telling him he should have sex with a horse.

2.  A man called police to report the theft of a large sum of money from inside of his freezer.

3.  A MacArthur Drive woman reported at approximately 7:00pm… a carpet was left on her front steps.

You get the idea here.  There can be any number and/or type of calls that come in, no matter how stupid they sound.

If none of that gets your motor running, google "cops parody troopers" and watch that.

Ahh, stupid calls. My favoite one to this day was to respond to a house for what they initally reported as "Vandalism of Chickens". Yeah. This couple had an old trailer they used as a coop. They claimed that someone was breaking into it, taking the chickens, breaking their legs, and then putting them back.

You could also feature a call about an abandoned weapon just left in the middle of the street at night, as a way of giving the characters a breather inbetween scenes.

I personally reported one such weapon (a sawed off shotgun) to the cops.

Bonus points if it's been abandoned by another group of characters,
"If you are expecting a rousing speech, or a cunning plan that will get us out of this, I will have to disappoint you. I don't have any. We either do this, or we die. And the world dies with us."
"I paid quite a lot to get all of you here. I expect you to give me my money's worth. Shogun out."

"Johansen, why are your prints all over this gun?"

"Well, Sarge, there were a bunch of Gangers watching us and we were out of gloves. We didn't want to screw with the Halloweeners for low-priority Drek like this, so we just grabbed it and bailed."

"Damnit, Johansen, be more careful next time... get the frack out of my office and don't do it again!"

I recently saw an episode of COPS where this guys was so drunk that he was involved in several hit and run accidents... because he was UNAWARE of them... So when they finally stopped him, his drunken super strength kicked in and they couldnt get him in the car. They had to lay him out on the ground, one officer grabbed his legs and another got in the back seat of the cruiser and pulled him in by his hands and they loaded him in like a log. All in all, it took like 5 guys...

That brings me back to the troll thing. If they need special cars for troll officers, they probably need special cars to apprehend troll suspects. Imagine trying to keep a drunken troll under control until something bigger gets there to pick him up.

As the cop's prints are already all over the gun and it was used in five other crime's recently. <.< Shadowrunner framing a cop? Never! xD

Not to bad ideas, maybe one day i shall do a KE or LS campaign. :D
Having access to Ares Technology isn't so bad, being in a room that's connected to the 'trix with holographic display throughout the whole room isn't bad either. Food, drinks whenever you want it. Over all not bad, but being unable to leave and with a Female Dragon? No Thanks! ~The Captive Man
