Leonard Aurelius is still alive and considered a possible choice to replace his son on Ares Macrotechnology board, according to Storm Front, page 128. Nicholas also had two sisters: Sharon (Corporate Download, page 54) and Evelynn (Blood in the Boardroom, page 64).
page 127 "From what I understand, he’s been absent from recent board meetings, relying on a proxy to vote for items on his agenda."
In corporate management, the term "proxy" refers to shareholders votes casting during shareholder assembly. It does not apply to board of directors meeting. Besides, Damien Knight is also President of Ares Macrotechnology, a position that cannot be delegated to a third party and would have to be assumed by another member of the board.
page 144 "The Japanese Imperial State was getting into a full swing with the tenth anniversary of the Emperor’s reign this year"
Default date for Storm Front ought to be late 2074 or early 2075. Yasuhito assumed the imperial throne on January 5th, 2062, according to Year of the Comet, page 102, and Shadows of Asia, page 78. The tenth anniversary would have taken place between Emergence and Ghost Cartels.
