I really liked the games I played (Boundless Mercy 1-4, Company Men 2-3).  Some of them were probably a little boring for those characters who are more geared toward combat since there seemed to be a lot of sneaking, stealthing, and generally avoiding combat.  My fireball finger is getting twitchy. ;)

I played in two events - Welcome to the Sixth World (teaching my daughter the game) and the Shadowrun LARP.  Company Men is being run at a local convention over Labor Day weekend, which is why I didn't sign up for more events.

The Welcome to the Sixth World I played (run by some guy with the initials T.P.) was fun, and my daughter had a good time as well.  I wonder if the format could use to be tweaked, though - it seemed people were more interested in jumping in and experiencing the game than spending two hours in character creation.  A two hour slot where you can jump in with a pregen and carry the Karma / Nuyen rewards over when you make a Missions character would be an interesting experiment.

The Shadowrun LARP was fun, and I was able to team up with a good group.  However, it is apparent that either I fail at LARPing, or the Nuyen reward was subpar.  When handed the summary sheet, I realized that I didn't do anything to help with most of the objectives (and wasn't even aware of some of them, like Valentine).  After dividing our Nuyen cards among the group, I earned a grand total of 1100 Nuyen for a 4 hour event.  For comparison, I earned 5000 nuyen for Welcome to the Sixth World, where the adventure only took half that time.  From a money perspective, I would have been better off traveling between NPCs for four hours, buying and selling dwarf beards*... :)

My suggestion for the LARP would be to give a starting task to the characters for some initial direction and a passable payout, then let the PCs use the hooks from that starting task to move to the more freeform style that we saw at this year's GenCon.  That way, inexperienced LARPers won't feel like they missed out on the plotline.

*  That was our best payout of the game - we bought a dwarf beard from Carver for 1000 nuyen, then turned around and sold it to the Ancients ganger for 5000 nuyen.  5 minutes of work resulted in a 4000 nuyen profit for our team.

EDIT:  Here's our team for the LARP

I agree that payout for the LARP, was low, but the rest of the LARP was fan.-freakin-tastic! We had alot of fun during the LARP, but I was apart of the group that both found patient 0 and took down the cyberbear...
That's right there was a cyberbear...
...and a load of c-12 just ticked him off.

That said, I did all of company men and some of the Boundless Mercy. I think Company men was a really hard set of runs, and if your an experienced set of runners, you will be challenged. You get the payout of a great contact.  Really liked Boundless Mercy as a plot.

Oh and a big thanks goes out to Ray and all the co-ordinators, who really did a bang up job keeping the con going!

Agreed that Ray & crew did a great job.

Also, do Boundless Mercy in order if at all possible.  I can see it being really confusing if you do it out of order.

I suggest next time you unleash a string of neverending fireballs  :o  At the very least it would have stopped the 'body looting'.

I had the chance to play all 4 of the new missions.  I had waaaaay too much fun with 7, 9, and 10.  Excellent combination of Written Mission, GM, and group.  Looking forward to the continuation of some of those Arcs.

I know you were making updates during the busy weekend for some of those missions, and that was fantastic!  I had the honor of doing the last session with Beth GM'ing for #9 Ancient Rumblings with a few pages of updates/clarifications.  We had a huge blast.

The room was also a great improvement over being in the main hall last year.  I was able to hear everyone. ;)  Please Please Please try to get that set-up again next year. Or else I will have to put Baby in the corner....

I played in Company Men 1, 3, and 4. They were fun, but when I registered for events, I was really only able to get into those, when I was preferring the look of the Boundless Mercy track of CMP's. Obviously I could have used generics and gotten into some others, but I was already having a busy weekend.

Really the most fun from Missions depends on the group you're playing, and the person running the game. I had one game where one player was pretty much trying to dominate the game with his character, and our GM handled him pretty well.

If I had a dollar for every time this guy said, "and I've still got Improved Invisibility on" like it was his mantra....

Good, glad to hear you had a good GM to handle the player.  It can be annoying when you have a forceful, outspoken player who tries to dominate the game, especially if you have a GM not able to deal with players like that.

Thanks to y'all for the praise!

I have a great team of volunteers that made GenCon a huge success.  We even had a couple of attendees step up and run events as "honorary" Agents (who are soon to be full blown Agents).  I simply can't stop praising the CDT SR Agents enough for being the great people they are!

Another huge thank you to all the fans for coming and playing our games!!  We exceeded our expectation for SR tabletop alone by 31% and with all the events under my umbrella, we had 50% more attendees than last year!  Thank you so much for supporting us!

We have had several discussions on Welcome events and ways to make it better/faster and we hope to have a better product at Origins.  I would like to point out that the description does say that the Welcomes are an intro to the world, character creation and a short demo.  FYI:  they aren't supposed to pay out that much nuyen either.

We always appreciate the constructive feedback and are in constant discussion "behind the scenes" in improving all of our events in order to provide y'all the best experience possible!
