I'm new to SR4.  Looking at the weapons charts on p. 316 and following, I don't see a clear explanation of all the abbreviations.  What's RC?  And what does the symbol next to the ammo number mean?  (For example, an Ammo of 5(c)--what's the "c" for?)

RC stands for "Recoil Compensation".

The symbol next to the ammo number means the method that the firearms holds the ammunition.  "C" means "Clip" (Box Magazine, actually.).  "Cy" means "Cylinder" (Revolver.).  "M" means "Internal Magazine" (Like most shotguns).  "BL" means "Breach Loading" (I'll let you look this one up.).  "Belt" is self-explanatory.

EDIT:  There's no dumb questions about weapons as long as you ask them before you shoot Marvin in the face (NSFW).

All that stuff's earlier in that chapter, or should be at least around 310.

C - clip (external ammo 'clip')
M - Magazine (internally loaded magazine)

The difference is that it takes a Simple Action to reload a Clip while a Magazine takes a Complex Action. Keep in mind though that unless the gun is a smartgun, expelling a loaded clip is also a Simple Action. If it's a Smartgun (or has the accessory) then it's a free action to eject the clip.

RC stands for Recoil Compensation. Look around p150 for more info on shooting and such.

Got it.  Thanks.  Just couldn't find it for some reason.
