OK, bowing to peer pressure and changing the language to Icelandic.  Although I'm still steering towards Swedish as I've had to type in that a time or five.  (I had to type e-mails for a house guest.).

Good call. Of the surviving languages, Icelandic is, supposedly, the one closest to Old Norse.

Yeah, just too bad I've never heard Icelandic.  Or Salish for that matter.  I have heard Ojibway, and thinking about learning it hurt my head.

You can use google translate to translate to Icelandic - unfortunately the listen-option is a very poor synthetic voice.

5 minutes on google gave me this: http://www.alarichall.org.uk/teaching/modern_icelandic.php I haven't tried to download the mp3s though.

Somewhere I still have my book and cd of learning Icelandic, along with all my other uni shit. I might even find them sometime in the next two years. I can still manage good day and thats it... but its an arse finding the right symbol to type it.

If you'd rather have a language you can type/speak, Swedish still makes sense.

But then I wouldn't be in a Lined Duster, the default uniform of Shadowrunners everywhere!

Lined coat? default? when I can its armored jacket, aye.
I like the idea the levels of his skills are character driven, and personal choice, not min-maxing I see alot of.

I rather have a character who would make sense to play vs one that is maxed in one area because the player wants to be a badass

cool wolf too

Thanks wylie!

FastJack calls it "Shadow Gear, Summer 2050", and I don't argue with FastJack, ever.

...

The other FastJack.  The one here I argue with all the time.  He doesn't have a BlackHammer Program, and I don't Sim.  :P

Spirit Appearances:

Guardian:  Appear as Einherjar ("lone fighters") from various ages, ranging from viking warriors all the way to modern soldiers, some of whom Sindri has slain himself and are part of his death guard.  They typically come with sword and shield as well as whatever (Damaged) armour they wore in life, as well as the lethal wounds that killed them.  Sometimes appropriate weapons from the field of battle as needed.
Water:  Fae-like humanoid in appearance for conversations and combat, but just a small shaped puddle like it's held in that of a looking pool or goblet for information or advice.
Fire:  A giant with flaming hair, manacled at wrists and ankles with no chains.  Surly, but not rude or angry, even when ordered into combat.
Air:  Varies greatly, but for combat an unkindness of ravens with lightning flashing from eyes and wingtips, flying circles above their target.  Can also darken the sky with their presence.
Earth:  A Norse-Mythology Style Dwarf (Not short at all) shaped mound of whatever rock or rock-like material is around.  Holding a massive smith's hammer in one hand, and a anvil in the other, both made of the darkest iron.

EDIT:  Forgot one:
Watchers:  Small ravens, thought by Sindri to be the clutches of Huginn and Muninn and mortal ravens.

I originally contacted him looking to be a player, but ended up roping my gaming group into playing.  Our schedule can be random, but I'm working to get the next game planned, and CanRay at it.

Good, I was just going to ask you about that.  What neighbourhood is he living in?  Sounds like there are a few problems there.  Plenty of fun negative qualities, too.  I hope I can keep track of them all.

What business would you like the 'wrong commcode' to be?  Even if I forget the rest, hopefully I can remember to use that one every session....

Well, at Low, and with "Rough Neighborhood", I'm figuring near the border of Snohomish and Redmond, with the criminals of the Z-Zone Redmond Barrens spilling out into the agricultural/residential area that Sindri lives in.

I'd also suggest have to deal with the Anti-Metahuman Mentality of Snohomish, which is pretty much the closest thing Seattle has to "Hillbilly Central", and is a Humanis Policlub political location ("Worse Neighbors") that still has the occasional cross burning (Most of Humanis has gone from white sheets and tattoos to business suits and political positions, like the Governor of Seattle!  So there isn't as much of that any more.).  So I figure that even at 1 point, I'm going to earn that negative quality.  (It's also where "Cross-Stitch" Sally had her clinic, disguised as a vet's office, which was her Day Job in every sense of the word).  Info on Snohomish can be found in Runner's Havens (Page 107) and Seattle 2072 (Page 103).  In addition, with only ~1% of the population being Dwarf, it'd be hard for Sindri to not attract attention.  When people bother to look down, that is.  Also means I can't go to the "Local Dwarf Community" to help, as they're all locked away at homes with their higher security than usual, scared witless as they watch pick-ups after pick-ups full of humans drive by, wondering which is just people coming off a shift on the farms after a night at the bar, and which is a lynch mob after a night at the bar.

The Central Home Node's CommCode is one character away from a Soy-Pizza Chain (Cheapa-Pizza) that delivers in a lot of the scummier areas of town, and is quite cheap and bad, but filling.  So, it's popular with druggies that have a serious case of the munchies and a small grasp of reality (BTLers coming off a binge, Deepweed and Pot Heads, Betameth addicts that remember that maybe they should eat SOMETHING.).  So, a "Dave's Not Here" situation at best, and dealing with paranoid and angry people at worst.

"Poor Condition" and "No Forwarding Address" is due to the place being a crash pad for a bunch of BTL Junkies, who didn't pay any bills, put holes in the walls, had overhot showers that caused the ceiling to drip badly, and so on.  Some people might not have gotten notice that it has a new renter, either (More "Rough Neighborhood".).  The previous person on record was also a Dwarf, and the collection agency is very much "Humey" (The Shadowrun equivalent of Blaxploitation's "Whitey") so all Dwarves look alike to them.  The really big dog is new, however...

It was, however, the apartment that Sindri's Kindred used for a lot of their meetings, and a lot of those old emotions and feelings still abound, thus is Apsected to Norse Mythology (+2 Aspect Background Count to Norse Mythology Traditions only, Street Magic, Page 118.  Summed up, Sindri gets +2 to all magical tests, including drain, while working in his apartment.  Any other traditions get a -2 to the same tests, AND suffers a -2 to their Magic statistic as well.).
