  Here's a thought.  Perhaps the Dragons themselves were extraterrestrial in origin and came here to find a new home for whatever reason, (good or bad).  Your choice.  After all, ya got a dragon skeleton on Mars and wasn't there some reference made of a Power Loci that may have been where their original mother-ship landed or crashed?  Hey, ya really want to get weird?  Do the  whole meta-plane/dimensional travel option.  I've done it to my running team once on a home-made adventure.  Yeah, I know it sounds D&D'ish; but messing with your gamers can be fun!

While I'm strictly opposed to little green men, that idea is not bad...and certainly not less weird than the dragons' own creation myth
