Using UmaroVI's sample characters as a base template, I have tried my first attempt at a SR Missions Face type of character, using Hero Lab. There probably isn't anything new or different in this one; I just needed to create one of each character type to cover all the bases, since I don't know what anyone else will have on Monday. I would appreciate any suggestions and comments. Thanks!

Yup, that's inspired by Umaro all right.  Looks pretty solid, at a glance.

One level of Cloak or Rapid Healing is pretty worthless (arguably MORE levels in them are pretty worthless, too, especially for a Missions character).

Ok, I'll stick with the Improved Ability then, even if I'm not getting the benefit of it at the moment.

Looks mostly fine :)

I agree with Critias; neither Cloak nor Rapid Healing are very good.

You can wear another 0/2 of armor; I'd suggest getting two of the 0/1 PPP pieces for that.

Technically, the Reaction Boost from Improved Reflexes does not stack with the Reaction boost from Suprathyroid Gland. This is really retarded and widely houseruled, but if you are playing in missions the letter of the law applies. You can also ask your GM and run with what they say in their game (but it may vary from table to table).

I'm a bit confused how you can have an Essence of 4.02 and a Magic rating of 5 (4).  You should have lost two points of Magic from bioware.

Sorry, that was a typo; the actual magic rating is 6 (4). I changed the original post to reflect that.

I'll grab those armor pieces! As for the Adept Improved Reflexes, the text says:  "The maximum rating of Improved Reflexes is 3, and the increase cannot be combined with other technological or magical enhancements to Initiative." I took that to mean that it wouldn't stack with the Increase Reflexes spell, Wired Reflexes, or Move-by-wire. So I guess that leaves me with a couple questions:

1. Is Bioware considered 'technological?'
2. If it is considered to apply to that rule: I should still get the boost to reflexes from it, but I just would lose the point or two of initiative from the stacking since it states that it only applies to Initiative, correct?

Edited Character Sheet to add SecureTech Shin Guards and SecureTech Forearm Guards. I also took 1 point out of Pistols, and put it into Negotiation to get the skill bonus from the Adept power Improved Ability.

Bioware is born from bio-technology...so no, it can not be stacked with wired reflexes or the increased reflex power/spell. I believe what was being suggested was that you could lose the suprathyroid as it is not doing you any good (unless the suprathyroid CAN be stacked with some OTHER type if ware...but they are fairly consistant with limiting thaat type of thing).

Essentially, the Suprathyroid Gland wouldn't increase your Reflex score, but it would still add +1 to Strength, Body, and Agility, making it well worth for anyone who wants to be generally physically badass.

Most sane GMs would not consider a +1 to Reaction which is part of a blanket increase to all physical Attributes to be an "initiative enhancement" for purposes of combining with initiative enhancers (although a blurb clarifying that would have been nice).  UmaroVI is right, though, that you might want to check to see how Missions runs it - they are a lot closer to RAW, even when a more stringent reading doesn't make a lot of sense (it makes the suprathyroid gland go from extremely useful to almost completely useless).

It's still pretty good, since it's the only way to actually raise your body score and it stacks with Muscle Toner.

I'd actually swap the Pistols and Negotiations back. The reason is that buying whichever you don't start with using karma is 12 or 4, respectively.

I'll check with the GM at Monday's game; at worst, I'll lose a point of Reflexes and two points of Initiative if he rules against it. I'll also search the SRM section of the forums, and see if I can find something there.

Doh! I wasn't thinking about the Karma costs! I switched them back!

Well, had my very first Shadowrum Missions game Monday (SRM 04-00 - Back in Business) and ended up using this character, as the other two players chose a Street Sam and Shaman. Bringing the Adept Improved Reflexes 2 + Suprathyroid Gland issue up with the GM, he ruled that since that piece of bioware was living tissue, it did not count as technology for the rule. I didn't know if I would care for a face type of character or not, but I had a blast! Thanks to everyone who provided input on this, ans especially to UmaroVI for the sample character I based this off of!
