OK for a campaign I am joining I am making a concept character. The character is a physical adept focused more towards escape/evasion than attack. Also, I am looking to have a secondary in being a Face. I like the idea of trying to talk past situations or sneak past them as opposed to just shooting first, last and always. The GM said my build is sub-optimal, so I am submitting it here to see what problems I have. Hero Forge says it all checks out rules wise, but not sure how I made a sub-par character. He's a new runner not a hardened vet.

I think a lot of your problem is that "evasion/escape" is not really a helpful role on a team. It's a useful thing to be able to do, but the master of running away from things isn't exactly someone you want on your shadowrun; you want someone who can do something useful, and it's also nice if they can get away from trouble.

You have a bad case of average-stats-itis. In particular, you are an elf face with 4 charisma? You actually are below average for an elf, and really, you should have 7. Strength and Logic are both much less important to you.

You have Dodge, Gymnastics, and Unarmed. This is redundant. You want either Gymnastics and Unarmed, or you want Dodge, depending on whether you are willing to pay more points to be able to slapfight people or save points and just know how to not get hurt.

Hacking 1 is not helping you. You aren't good enough to actually do jack on the Matrix. If you want to have some minor matrix ability, an agent setup is a better choice.

You have a lot of specializations; you may want to hold off on some and get them with karma because it is cheaper.

You should probably have Perception.

With Infiltration 3 and Shadowing 3, you should really think about just having Stealth.

Tasers is not a good specialization for Pistols, because it isn't Semi-Automatics. Semi-Automatics is better, because you can just use a semiautomatic taser (or a Yamaha Sakura Fubuki loaded with stick-n-shock).

Great Leap is a really unimpressive ability.

You don't have Kinesics! Kinesics is pretty much the social adept power. There's no reason you shouldn't have Kinesics 3. Commanding Voice is also really powerful and very cheap.

Why do you have a rating 5 autopicker? Just pay the extra tiny amount of nuyen for rating 6.

You should probably get Vision Enhancement on your contacts (and get some earbuds with Audio Enhancement.

You should never be using a Smartlinked Taser. The only advantage to a taser over just using a Yamaha Sakura Fubuki with Stick-n-Shock is that the taser is legal and the gun is R. Smartlinks are R which defeats the whole point. I suggest carrying both and not smartlinking the taser.

You can wear better armor. Start with Form-Fitting Body Armor, add some item that floats your boat, and round the encumbrance out to 8/8 with SecureTech PPP Systems.

Like all adepts you would be more optimal with a small amount of bioware.

The only thing I can add to what Umaro said (because he pretty much covered it all cuz he is that darned good) would be:

I see a lot of different gear that could be considered as B&E gear (rapelling gloves, gecko tape gloves, urban jumpsuit, etc.).  Considering Umaro's advice about taking the Infiltration skill group, why not just drop the whole "master of dodging" portion of your concept and turn him into a  cat-burglar/b&e specialist with face qualities?
I could wile away the hours conversing with the flowers
Consulting with the rain
And my head I'd be scratching while my thoughts were busy hatching

Well that's pretty much what the concept was, just seems people lock onto it as a "master of running away." I saw the concept more of distracting guards, infiltrations and using social engineering techniques over straight up hacking or kicking in the doors.

I got the revisions in using a few of the suggestions given. Helped trim down bloat on skills and point costs.
