Hey there,

I was wondering what others thought of this situation.  The dracoforms of Oriental Drakes are described as "the only drakes
with opposable thumbs and manual dexterity in drake form, allowing them to pick up and manipulate objects with their forelimbs."  Is there any mechanical reason, therefore, that an Oriental Drake in dracoform couldn't use e.g a sniper rifle if they had it suitably modified (likely using Metahuman Customisation rules)?

Well, it would be hard to aim, since an oriental drake's dracoform doesn't have a metahuman-like structure like a western drake would.

Because of having relatively short forelimbs, or for some other reason?  I guess I was thinking that might be offset by the Customisation.

The RC image of an oriental drake has some pretty short forelimbs relative to their distance from the head. Whether that matters with the right gun is another question.

OK, so Longarms, Assault Rifles and Battle Rifles might be an issue.  What about Pistols or SMGs, though?

Sure they could. But why bother? When you're a drake, you have firebreath, which is much more effective than a pistol.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who saw the oriental drake and thought "a dragon on top of a tank firing a machine gun, how freaking EPIC would that be?"

Gun + Cam Mod + Linked Monocle = it could happen I think, especially if the dragon could one-hand the rifle (I don't know how strong a dragon's forelimbs are). The only problems would be weight and recoil.

Actually, a SmartGun + Linked Monocle/Contacts would work just fine. It'll paint the line-of-fire on the Smartlink regardless of how the gun is actually being held.

I think people forget that oriental dragons bend like snakes, and could probably just bring their head down to the gun.
