Silk nodded. She didn't like the whole thing one bit, but didn't show it. Yet.
"Your father obviously cares much about these items and must have been keeping an eye on what's going on with them. Any noteworthy people your father worked with while making the discovery? Or has anyone recently shown a greater than normal interest in them?"
Something had to have changed recently for this to happen now... Knowing what might prove to be essential.

She smiled towards Gibbon and Cookie. "Yes, thank you, hm, I must've missed your names... All things in due time. Now's the time to learn about what's expected from us and what we can expect. We needn't bother mister... I'm sorry, I only know your first name... Diego, with the details of our part of the deal." And this guy knows too much already. I'd rather avoid him knowing what we're going to do until we're ready to deliver. "And I'm certain no one here has forgotten that hiring people to do a job tends to involve money changing hands."

Comm @Kitten, Andromeda: "What's his angle? What's he getting out of this? His 'father' is blowing part of his inheritance "reclaiming treasure for the public good" and he's okay with it? Helping? "My father was not working for Aztechnology when he uncovered the dig site. Aztechnology recently purchased them from the corp he has since retired from, likely because he is no longer an obstacle to their claim over it.

He seems sincere in wanting to help you guys do the best job you can, but something about him, his movements, his speech, his smile, makes you uneasy.

"What do you know about the way the are shipping these? Would it not be better to take them while they are already packed in one big car and driven and out in the city?" Andromeda spoke for the first time tonight and her vocal cords felt stiff and she had to clear her throat. "Do we have any information on how the Azzies are handling transport?" Easier and safer was Andromeda's thought on just stealing the transportation inclusive the freight.

Stealing a car nowadays was no more difficult then 10 years ago, a skilled hacker could easily take over the computer of the vehicle, and if needed, the drivers can be geeked so they do not make any trouble.

Kouryuu replies pretty quickly, "Never heard of 'em myself, but the blonde guy is a runner from a few years back, that's all i got."

Kitten had kept silent so far during the discussion.  She had been to the museum about a year ago when a display not unlike this one, but with Egyptian artifacts, had been visiting.

"You said you didn't know what the Azzies would bring as security," she said, "but what about regular museum security.  I assume you know something about that, like how many guards, cameras, spirits, that sort of thing?"

[Xzylvador]

"Before we settle on a price... A personal question, if I may." Silk opened her hands, palms open towards Diego in an offering gesture. "Clearly you're an experienced runner yourself, with more than a few connections. Why go through the trouble of hiring an unknown team when you could do this yourself?"

"There are still a lot of unknowns we're dealing with here. The fact that, despite all your fantastic homework and preparations, so many questions are left unanswered doesn't bode very well, I've learned from experience.", Silk remarked, all business.

"As you're obviously well aware, this isn't just a museum heist.
You're asking us to steal an entire truckload of valuable artifacts out of a secure environment from right under the eyes of, most likely, two well-trained security teams.
I'd say that puts the price at one twenty, 30 up front.", she offered in return.
"That is, of course, not including an additional 33% hazard pay should we encounter unexpected competition from other runners or similar treasure hunters... Or any magical stuff from some awakened artifact or what have you."

Gibbon smiled at Silk's perfect businesslike attitude and well-composed counter-offer. Knew she was good at it. He felt the negotiations were in good hands.

hmm, that act earlier of hers had me convinced, lets see how someone who is mundane deals with those acting skills.....

"The gift shops close at 5PM, and then the restaurant closes at 6PM. This gives security ample time to secure those rooms before the museum closes at 7PM. They are open and follow this schedule every day, including weekends. There are two groups of three security guards for each floor. One is mobile, circling the floor. The other is fixed in the middle, in total 30 security guards. There is a security spider, though i have been unable to locate a Hub room. Usually the security is at half strength during the night with only the mobile teams, whether this is true while they keep Aztechnology's display on premises I cannot say. There is certainly one Security Mage on the labeled on the staff roster, so expect watchers, minimum. They may not be advertising all their wagemage's though."


Pointing towards Silk with an outstretched arm, after her question, "You would be correct but that was a few years back before i became my father's head of security, consider it a period of rebelling against ones elders. Also i no longer have the team that such a heist requires."
He stands and folds his arms again, " Very well, your pricing at 4000 a crate per person is very apt Miss Silk. We will have it at 120,000 with 30,000 up front. I agree you should have hazard pay but i think 33% is a little steep, I will only accept 15% extra for danger money. Do you accept?"

[Xzylvador]

"Well... I suppose I should be relieved we can so easily agree on what a normal and fair payment would be for this kind of work.", Silk immediately agreed, not too subtly letting Diego know what she thought of the original offer.
"But so much haggling over a fee which is only conditional and -if the information you've given us so far proves to be correct- likely doesn't need to be paid?", she tilted her head questioningly, a small amount of disappointment leaking into her otherwise still stable and businesslike voice. "For the amount of extra danger and trouble even the smallest of complications could create while attempting to steal so many items from under the scrutiny of this kind of security, that does seem a bit light. Could we not settle on 25%... or perhaps find another way to compensate this difference?"

"We'll call it 20% then. That is as far as i am willing to negotiate with my Father's money. Now then, If you would like, the man servant drone's have been preparing a meal in the room opposite this one. You are welcome to partake or leave at your leisure. If you will pardon my exit, I must see to my Father."

As he walks to leave a matrix address to an Escrow account is forwarded to you all, containing 120,000. 30,000 is currently free to withdraw.

Watching the man disappear from sight, Cookie let himself relax slightly,
"Interesting man, all angles that one...must run in the family.... perhaps... so, anyone want to share comm numbers or shall we meet somewhere else to discuss things? or perhaps do both?
The last part ending on a slightly more cheerful tone.

Legion turned towards Silk and said, "We thank you for your adept negotiation, but perhaps we should all stay for the meal being prepared? We can begin to introduce ourselves properly, including what we might be best at handling on the job. Not to mention we can't remember the last time we dined in such opulence."

"Well, it would be a shame to let all that food go to waste." Gibbon stood up and turned to the others. "On the other hand i wouldn't feel too comfortable sharing too much information in this house. So i would leave full introduction and skillsets until after we left." Then he smiled at Silk. "And i seem to have misplaced my dinner jacket so i'm not sure i am properly attired for the occasion." There wasn't any sarcasm in his voice or expression. "For the ladies and Legion, i'm known as Gibbon. Pleased to meet you."
