The glasses would have to be linked to a camera, you could integrate a micro cam into the glasses, but the software is run from your Link.

If you have image link on your glasses then it can work.

Image Link can't run software though. Nor does it have camera functionality. It simply is able to put visual data in your sight. You'd need some kind of camera to capture the data, a comm or remote server that runs the sensor program, then you can do with the results whatever you want, such as having an image link tell you "warning, criminal X identified".

*Gasp!*

Not...Criminal X!!

Alright, listen up, people! Our fugitive has been on the run for 90 minutes. Average foot speed over uneven ground barring injuries is 4mph. That gives us a radius of 6 miles. What I want, from each and every one of you, is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area. Checkpoints go up at 15 miles. Go get him!

Well considering freaking underwear have electronics in them there's no reason a pair of display glasses can't run some software.
Then again it's not exactly a commlink in and of itself, so it's probably doesn't have the storage and spare cycles to run a high rating program. Device rating for a pair of display glasses is probably somewhere around 2-3 so I might let you run some sensor software at R1 or maybe 2 on it.

As mentioned previously they don't automatically have any sensor capabilities, so you'd need to have that on them to begin with.

Peripherals  use  the same  rules  as  standard nodes  (see  Devices  and Software Ratings, p. 206, SR4),  with  some  restrictions. They are only able to run a single persona and can only run programs they are designed to use.

Glasses and other such things would be considered peripheral nodes, and so they couldn't run sensor software themselves.  You'd need a camera (and whatever other hardware you'd need, such as a microphone for Noise Analysis or the Thermographic Vision enhancement for Weapon Watcher) which could be built into the glasses, and then run the actual software on your Commlink, accessing the glasses as a slaved device.

Jeeze.  It would almost sound stupid until you realize we're talking about an immortal elf clown sword fighting a dragon ghost in a mall.

It gave an example in the CRB of using underwear for data storage, so I mean, why wouldn't you?

Got me my 500 Gp panties, and 200 Gp sports bra... now what the hell do I store on them?

Hrm... I suppose I could. It'd be allot easier than holding them, while running around naked listening to music.
