Does the HK XM30 use the assault rifle skill for all of its modes?  When it's in "shotgun mode" or carbine/sniper/LMG mode, does it still fire like an assault rifle, or would it use the longarms skill?  I haven't seen anything about this in the book.

I've generally run these multi-weapons (HK XM-30 and the Steyr-AUG) as needing the correct skill for each type. That is, Automatics for the AR and SMG modes, Heavy Weapons for LMG and Long Arms for the sniper or shotgun modes. I think the point of these is so you can have a bunch of weapons in one handy package rather than serving as a way to circumvent the need for the right skills to use those weapons.

Right, that's what I assumed.  I just wanted backup, because I worry when the book doesn't mention something.

Well, the Steyr-Aug does specify that you use different skills for different configurations, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume the XM30 does this too.
