I am working on fleshing out my world as much as I can. I have started by taking every place of interest and setting up generic runs and random events I am also trying to figure out a few other things like:
1) How many stores could fit in the first five floors of the ACHE?
2) What type of stores would be in the ACHE?
3)Who would be in charge of what? Mainly ranks and the like of the people in charge of the mall in general and the military base in the sub levels as well as the residential area and the Executive area that is mostly sealed off do to the UCAS is still trying to clear it out from all the stuff that Dues and Aztech left for them.
4)How do the Residents get in and out of the building? I assume they have some kind of access to a secure elevator that can only be opened by a guard or something..
5)What kind of security do the different sections use? Such as the matrix the mall the under ground military and the executive area as well as the residential area.
6)What  gangs if any are in there? Have they made there own or have some of the other gangs in the city got in there to mark there turf?
7)Is there anything that I forgot to take into account? I am sure there is and I am know that this is by no means needed to make the game work. I just like to do it as I have lots of spare time at work and no life lol.
Below is what I have worked out for the ACHE so far. I am working on several other places and trying to figure out a template that would best work for all the places of interest.( haven't come up with a good idea for that yet) Any help would be awesome thank you for you time!.
[spoilerName:Archology Commercial and Housing Enclave(ACHE)

Name of General manager for the Mall (Marie Abbot, Human, Female, Caucasian  Age 33, Ht  1.6m or 5’3” , Wt 47.7 kg or 105 lbs. personality: She is very dedicated to her job and it shows. She rarely if ever jokes around and is always trying to take care of some crisis or another. If there is not crisis she is always looking for one.)

Name of Commanding officer of the sublevels: Cornel George S. Belarsk, Human, Male, Mix of Caucasian and Black,  Age 50, Ht. 1.8 m or 5’11” , Wt 100kg or 220 lbs., Personality: He is an army scientist that is very good at his job. He has been in the Army for 32 years and truly believes that it is the only place that he belongs. He is very inquisitive and easy to work with. He is often making jokes and trying to keep moral high.)

Head of the office that lets residents in to the ACHE. Margaret Artomayer, Dwarf, Female, Caucasian,  Age 45, Ht, Wt  Personality Often seems tired and distracted. She doesn’t like her job and has a distain for the poor wretches that are under her care. She hopes that one day they will just take care of them selves and let her be. She feels they should be grateful for what they have. So what they don’t have freedom or true safty they get free meals and a place to stay. She is not the best of bosses and often treats those under her as a burden more than an asset.

Shops on the first floor
ICT Clothing(mid level clothing store)
Long shot Electrical( A electrical repair shop that is know for its slacker employees)

B&E: Your employer needs you to get into the upper levels of ACHE and get into a section that has not yet been cleared by the UCAS. In that section is a type of tech that has not yet been perfected but Dues was rumored to have gotten further than any one else who has tried to date. It is a self sustaining nanite that does not need a hive. The applications of this are nearly endless (if it is true) and your employer is willing to pay top dollar for you to get it for him.

Courier Runs: Your employer is trying to get someone his product but he has a problem. The doesn’t have a secluded “vacation” day for months  and the client needs it now. That is why god made shadowrunners. He is offering a cut of the profits to get the product to its buyer. The only issue is that you need to get into the ACHE and get it and then get it back out again. Not an easy task but not impossible.

Data Steal: There is some sensitive info in the sublevels of the ACHE. The problem is that that info belongs to the UCAS military and they aren’t to keen on giving it away. To get to the data that your employer needs you will need to get in to the sublevel. There is no way to hack it from the outside as it is on a nexus with no wireless connection. He will pay you very well for some kind of schematic that they have for a prototype (what ever your heart desires as a GM)  This isn’t going to be easy but the potential for pay data beyond your task is very high. Just be careful a dead runner can’t spend anything.

Extraction: Your employer would like you to get him to a new home. He has had enough of the ACHE and needs to get out of there ASAP. He has made the wrong people mad and he doesn’t know how long he can hide from them. He is willing pay extra for the expedited extraction.

Hooding: When you are walking down the street you notice a dwarven woman trying to ask for help from any one that will listen. As you come closer you over hear her saying that her son is in the ACHE and she needs to get him out. He succeeded but in the process ticked of the wrong people and they now have him doing lord knows what to him. If you decide to help her she tells you that she knows some people in the Ork underground and if you help her she will see to it that you will be well taken care of should you ever need there help. All she knows are guides and medic that lives down there but they can be very helpful when trying to find your way around down there.

Smuggling: There are things that you just can’t get in the ACHE. Stuff that most of the outside world would take for granted.  Like food that isn’t soy flavored crap, or a good movie that doesn’t spout the propaganda that the UCAS is the best. So your employer would like you to help him out with that. He wants you to smuggling in some contraband and he will pay you three times the price for the product you bring. (up to the limit of what ever the GM finds appropriate.)

Structure hits: your employer needs some chaos to go down at the ACHE. He wants you to put enough explosives to cause some damage on the lower level floors of the mall but not enough to make the ACHE collapse. They just want the mall shut down for a week or so during a very busy time of year. If the mall is shut down then they will get the business and all will be right with the world. … ish

Wetwork: There are some people that just need killin. There UCAS does not condone the use of lethal force on its citizen unless they can get away with it. There is a man that goes by Mad Dog and he has gathered quite a following. You are hired by one the UCAS military to take him out before he becomes to powerful. They would do it them selves but that would be a bit hard to explain if they got caught as to way the killed a citizen with out do process.  All they need you to do is make sure it looks like an accident of some kind as to not start a full blown riot and gang war that could tare the place apart.

I didn't realize what Ache was.... had to go google it, didn't realize anything had been done to the Arcology...  but i digress, the shadowrun wiki said its basically become a housing project that's next to a voluntary prison. Somehow I imagine it looks something like the housing project off the new Dread movie that just came out.

1.) Depends on what stores and how big they are ? You could either map that out or do something like a dice roll chart - "need a gun ?" ... OK roll a D6 to find out what floor(6 being something in one of the kiosks or blackmarket) or something along those lines)
2:)To be honest with it being a large pyramid structure and the first 5 floors of it are shopping center, I don't see why anything and everything a character would want wouldn't be there.
3.) No idea
4.) That would make sense that there is some sort of guard presence at least at the mall to the projects elevators, kinda keeping the rift raft in place and out of the mall kinda deal ?
5.) The matrix - I'd assume would have various matrix's within this building, the mall would almost need its own separate one, the residential/projects above would need one, and of course the military underground would have a separate one... since its all one building it might be possible to backdoor into the other matrixes in the building.
6.) Not sure if your looking for specific gangs but I think the gangs would control floors at a time... so something like floors 10-15 are controlled by the holloweeners, 16-20 rival territory(this territory would be actively being fought over) , 21-30 the Skulls, etc and so on
7.)  No idea...

The 2nd edition Seattle Sourcebook goes into detail on the Renraku Arcology as it was in the 2050's. (Pg. 47)

It had 620 stores and restaurants, most of them Renraku owned. There were 265 non-Renraku stores. (Including Lordstrum's, The Beax, and Ivar's Seattle Dining)

Floors 1-5 described as follows:

These floors house a shopping mall as well as a variety of amusements, sights, and spectacles on the first floor. These include a tropical forest complete with twisting vines, a swimming pool, a coral reef aquarium, piped-in sunlight, and a waterfall cascading down from the ceiling of the third floor over glittering quartz boulders from Madagascar. There is also a permanent circus, a zoo, a stage, and an amusement park. Entrance to the first floor of the mall is either by elevator from the garage or through one of the 16 entrances along Renraku Avenue and Fourth Avenue South.

There's a monrail station on the 3rd floor, east side. There is a bus tunnel station on floor B5, and garages on B2 through B6. (Basement levels) A few of the popular bars are the Frag Grenade, the Blue Room, and Rumpelstiltskin's. Floor 6 is the mall offices and the Club Quarter, which is a group of 16 clubs, including the Frag Grenade and the Blue Room.

Overall the Arcology is 780 meters by 650 meters and 828 meters tall. (969 when completed) It has 276 floors (320 when completed) and 329 elevators (401 when completed) It has a population of 70,000 permanent residents. (92,000 when completed) It has 36 hospitals and clinics when completed. It was at one time the 9th largest building in the world.  It's windows are tinted a pleasant and appropriate shade of silvery green and can withstand gale force winds. It can grow its own food, purify its own water, dispose of its wastes, and provide everything its residents require.

Renraku:Arcology Shutdown has a fair bit of information about what happened to alot of the various floors, along with Brainscan. The place has been cleaned up considerably, but I htink the upper floors are still being cleaned up, unless some of the newer books that I havn't read update that. Could give some good inspiration for teams entering the Ache to encounter randomness.

AFAIK, the military still hasn't cleared out all of the upper floors. Which means that some of the AI's constructs may still be lurking about.

As it currently stands, the ACHE is basically split into four major sections.

Underground reactors and support structure: The four nuclear fusion reactors under the structure are under Army control. No idea if they sell excess power to the city to get some extra income, but it's likely.

Underground parking garage through roughly floor 10(?): Huge ass mall, amusement park, and several clubs take up these floors which are open to the public and owned by a wide variety of corporations local, international, and mega.

Floor 11-(?): The Housing Project is basically a voluntary prison for low-to-zero income SINless. You apply for residency, get accepted, go through screening, and then never ever leave. You get government-issue food, clothing, and trideo all for free. Oh, and you also get all the happy, cuddly extras that come with being in what is essentially a maximum security prison where the guards don't care what the folks inside do to each other as long as it doesn't threaten a break-out or damage the structure.

Floor (?)-The Roof: The White Levels are those levels that are still locked down by the Army and have not been cleared much if at all. They likely still have everything the Deus ordered mostly in place (except for Deus itself).

I'm not sure where the Housing levels end and the White Levels begin, but the place had 300+ floors and the Housing levels hold about 100k people in far beyond overcrowding capacity so I'm guessing that they're not taking up more than about 50-75 floors of the arcology's middle bulk (which was where most of the middle-class housing and support structures were located).

And perhaps needless to say, but because of the Shutdown and subsequent turning of the place into a sardine can for violence, depression, and hopelessness... this place is somewhere in relation to hell as far as background count goes, with the public areas being not quite so bad but still no fun place for the Awakened to spend time. And while the Housing levels are intended for no one to get out and nothing unapproved to get in, you just know that there's a thriving smuggling environment there, likely using many of the same routes that the Arcology Underground used during the Shutdown.
