"Let's see if there's people to help over there," Miko said to Leroy while indicating the way the two others were going, "here you can't help anybody."
She had at least have to try one last time to get him to leave.

What if I'M fucked up?

Leroy took a second.  He looked around.  He looked at himself.  He grabbed his own head with one hand.

Maybe it's me who isn't thinkin' right...  I WAS just in some kind of explosion...

He looked around at the scattered bodies.

What if I find someone? Someone alive?  And I kill them accidentally cause my head ain't on straight and I mess up the fixin'?

He looked at the concerned look everyone was giving him...  It was legitimate concern...

"Aiight, maybe I should get looked at before I start tryin' to take care of anybody..."

He held his hand up to his head and applied pressure to it while walking over to the rest of the survivors.

Defeated, he uttered, "Let's get outta here man..."

Joel moved with Matt, not really wanting to be in the eerie location any longer.  "Stay on guard, guys."  He called out quietly to the other two.  He doubted that they needed to be told that this was unlikely to be an accident. At least the dwarf was acting somewhat sensible now. He continued to push his hearing to make sure they weren't surprised.

Perception (4) + Intuition (5) + Hearing Specialisation (2) + Audio Enhancement 3 (3) + Perceptive (1) + Actively Searching (3) - Wounds (1) (17d6.hits(5)=4). No glitch. 3 if 'actively searching' invalid.

Thank god for him seeing sense
Matt focuses into the half darkness and flickery shadows of the corridor, heading up the group with his taser drawn, doing his best to follow the AR markers to the emergency exits whilst looking for an ambush by whoever caused this atrocity.
//Drone Command: move to the end of the corridor.
Continue to scan for contacts//

Matt felt a slight disturbance in the air as the insect sized drone complied with the command, shooting over his right shoulder down the corridor.
Matt's helmet image link glows an eerie green from the low-light mode of the drone's camera feed, no doubt casting an odd half-light over his face for the others in the group.

Jade followed, looking around for anything that light be either the cause of all this or anything that wanted to harm them.

As you moved in the emergency exit’s direction, the situation proved to be the same wherever you went. A dozen bodies here, a handful there – it must have been a full-scale chaos inside. As you got used to the flickering half-light of the emergency lighting, you thought less and less that one of the bodies moved suddenly.
While inside the building, everybody gets -2 to all perception checks for distractions, and a further -2 for lighting (visual only) if you have no low-light vision.
You reached the emergency exit in only a short while. There was no movement there, the same as the whole building so far. However, a big ARO intruded in your field of vision, covering the exit from corner to corner, saying Emergency lockdown – please wait for security personnel.

--Miko--
You saw a different image than the others. Your security privileges were still active, and the sign read Emergency lockdown – Level 3. You felt a surge of dread as you looked up the exact meaning in the manual. Level 3 would have been pretty serious. But as you found the meaning, your blood went cold. In ominous red, bold letters, there stood the definition, which made clearer what you saw earlier. Your eyes flickered over the text, not even catching everything.
BIOHAZARD… Complete lockdown in effect… wear protective equipment… authorities will issue directives…
Make a Composure(3) test.
//Command completed// Matt's drone completed it's task and returned to its holding pattern over Matt's right shoulder, scanning for contacts continuously.
The emergency exit ARO was baffling, The automated broadcasts urging evacuation and yet the exits were blockaded?
Miko, can you open this door? Why would the emergency exits not be open in an emergency anyway?

"Oh crap, oh crap," jade said as she quickly grabbed her respirator.  It was probably too late, but she had to try.
"We're in biohazard lockdown," she added for the others.

The blood rushed from Joel's face at hearing Jade's words. "I... I could have possibly lived not knowing that." He muttered faintly, slumping down to the floor. A bit of panic stirred at the thought of himself or the others possibly being infected with something. Have to... have to check their auras. Can't let them infect me.

Assensing on Jade: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (2) - Astral Visibility (2) (7d6.hits(5)=4)

Assensing on Leroy: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (2) - Astral Visibility (2) (7d6.hits(5)=1)

Assensing on Matt: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (2) - Astral Visibility (2) (7d6.hits(5)=0)
- If repeat allowed on Matt: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (2) - Astral Visibility (2) - Repeat (2) (5d6.hits(5)=1)

Assensing on Self: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (2) - Astral Visibility (2) (7d6.hits(5)=2)

He slipped out of astral sight, finding it difficult to focus. He was still somewhat wounded and the raw emotions floating around were making it difficult to analyse the auras of the sole four living metahumans in the area.

None of the auras you checked showed any sign of contamination or disease. You were sure that everyone suffered from some injuries, but nothing serious. You stood closest to Jade, and her aura revealed the most details, but aside being somewhat unstable, in shock, and not really knowing what to do, she was mostly healthy. You were also sure that the environment should have shown signs if there was an ongoing biological hazaard, but as you didn't check that in detail, you couldn't be sure.

What you were sure of was that there was some astral activity around you, It seemed that for some reason, the scavengers you saw earlier tended to gather for shorter or longer periods around Matt, who leaked his emotions out for them. It was as if small starved animals gathered mindlessly around food laid out, without reason or restraint.
This was the most accurate, the others yielded scraps, so i detailed this one. The troll seems to have taken some bruises, but is physically healthy. You don't sense any maladies, ailments, or astral signatures on her. She is also fully mundane, her Essence being 2.48, with implants strengthening her muscles and nervous system at multiple places. Her eyes and ears were replaced. Some of the modifications blend in better, hinting at bioware implants (eg. muscles). Her emotional state is exactly what the posts show.
Joel took a few slow breaths, finding it easier to calm down after noting a lack of obvious disease. That's odd... why are they gathering around him? Perhaps a spirit might be able to get a better look.

"Can't see any signs of contamination..." Joel murmured. "Doesn't seem to be a biohazard, but I can't get a proper look."

As you opened yourself to magical energies you felt as if wading through mud instead of clear water. Everything was harder to reach, even some of the quasi-beings began to feed on your strength. The pack felt like it was further and you heard their voices distant and muffled. Despite the hardships, one of them tried to heed your call, even though you felt its reluctance.
Summoning test is at -2 dice. Choose one of the optional powers, the spirit only retains that one. For further tests, your effective Magic is at -2.
Magic (5) + Summoning (5) + Beast specialisation (2) + Mentor Bonus (2) - Wounds (1) - Misc penalty (2) (11d6.hits(5)=1) Oh god. That's just sad.
Spirit Response: Rating (6) (6d6.hits(5)=3)

Summoning failed.
Fading DV: 6P
Willpower (5) + Intuition (5) (10d6.hits(5)=0) What. No. Spending edge to reroll.
Willpower (5) + Intuition (5) (10d6.hits(5)=8). BETTER
Fading MDV: 0P

Edge remaining: 1

Not trying that again.

Joel let out a gasp as he felt the beings feed on him. He tried to reach out to one of the spirits of the pack, but it remained out of his reach, even as he mentally barricaded himself against the pain of it. What the hell is going on here?

"Something is very wrong with the astral space here..." The young mage murmured.

General Assensing test on surroundings: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (1) - Astral Visibility (2) (7d6.hits(5)=0)

Seriously?

Retry: Assensing (4) + Intuition (5) + Perceptive (1) - Wounds (1) - Astral Visibility (2) - Retry (2) (5d6.hits(5)=3)

You heard an apologetic yelp as something on the threshold prevented the spirit from getting through. The scavengers left you, unsatisfied, when the flow of magic stopped. As you looked around for the reason of these strange happenings, you finally understood your surroundings. The astral mirrored what transpired in the physical world. You stood in a domain of death, fear, and suffering, permeated by the emotions and death throes of thousands of people. You got the feeling that this phenomenon would stay for quite a while. And this explained the presence of the scavengers as well.
The area is a level 2 aspected domain. Aspects are death, fear, suffering. Basically you are at -2 effective Magic, except when doing magical activities directly connected to the aspects, for which you get a +2 dice pool modifier.
