Good lord, no. I think Chrona would track me down if I did that to him...this early... ;)

So, I've just been hanging around the clinic waiting room.  Here's a perception test to see if I heard him wake up screaming.

How much of my gear am i still wearing? What would you have taken away? Was anything used on him penetrative that would remain in him, sub-dermal monitors, IV drip, etc. Was a medkit still attached to him?

As far as I would know, you would have nothing like a weapon in this room, and since you came out of it as I was finishing magically healing you, there would be very little in the way of monitoring items or stitches in you yet, but I would get Thvor to confirm any of that.

Initiative is 4d6+11=21

With strength 10, anything throw-able is a weapon. I wont add anything more IC as you would get to act first.

Panzer: with four hits, Siegfried definitely heard the troll wake up.

...actually, I wouldn't be surprised if half the block heard him...trolls have big lungs.

As far as gear: Armless's armored jacket got pretty thouroughly messed up by having a massive spear thrust through it, obviously. It's still usable, but anything hitting him in the gaping hole will be problematic. (I'll be nice and assume the coat managed to escape fairly unscathed. :) )Devon had to strip him down to the waist to treat the massive hole in his chest. All of Armless's gear has been stored in a closet (not in the room). A troll-sized paper hospital gown is folded nearby.

Devon had hooked the medkit up to Armless for the first aid section, but all modern technology was removed prior to the spell in order to minimize any interference. First aid consists largely of applying bandages and pressure, so Armless has a significant bandage wrapping around his chest & back. A saline drip into the right arm is standard, of course, especially when dealing with significant blood loss; that's still there.

Oh, and if you guys are rolling initiative, you ought to check for surprise; Devon wasn't expecting Armless's reaction, and Armless...wasn't expecting to wake up. :D

5d6.hits(5)=2

Nope I got surprised unless I had a warning of some kind.

Surprise (10d6.hits(5)=5)
I'm not surprised, no one under 5 can act on me or defend themselves from me. I don't want to post till Panzer has had a chance to catch up with the ooc and roll his Surprise and INI but Armless will just use this turn to leave the room and search for his gear, he will only fight if touched or assaulted in anyway (includes magically). So here's an extended test for that Actively looking perception. (9d6.hits(5)=5, 8d6.hits(5)=2, 7d6.hits(5)=4, 6d6.hits(5)=1, 5d6.hits(5)=1)

Actually, no--that rule got changed in 5E. Now, it only matters whether you're surprised or not; it's no longer possible to be "more surprised". So if Devon had managed to get one more hit, he'd be able to defend normally. Of course, he didn't, so he loses 10 from his initiative score and can't defend until his next turn (at initiative score 11, but it doesn't look like there's going to be actual fighting, so that's kind of moot...)

By the by, who else is in the clinic besides these two?  I am not trying to get anyone hurt here, but my reactions change based on how much back-up I do or do not have and who is in the line of fire.

Siegfried is an orc by the way.  Not sure if thats enough to tip you off that we're not the bad guys, but your attackers seemed to be racially motivated.
