also can other editions be converted to 5th?

i found an old copy of paranormal animals of europe and i though it would be such a waste to not be able to use these and other editions monsters

The core book was released on PDF in July, and as far as I can tell the only hard copies in circulation are the soft bound edition specially printed for Origins and a few copies distributed at a charity event by Catalyst. The general release of the hard back is set to coincide with GenCon later this month.

There was a previously announced Run Faster product (which appeared to be this edition's Runners Companion and was confirmed to have Karma and BP build systems), but it's been pulled from upcoming list. I suspect it's development went long and thsast it has been pushed back in release order.

It's reasonable to assume that we will see a 5E version of the Grimoir/Street Magic Book for mages and Adepts, the Rigger Black Book/Vehicle Portion of Arsenal book for Riggers, the Matrix/Unwired book for Deckers and Technomances. When these will be released is open to speculation. We've been told that the Rigger book will be earlier in the release cycle this time, but other than that it's your guess.

As for compatibility.

The setting books are almost entirely fluff and should thus be 90-95% compatible. the most recent version of the core setting book would be Seattle 2072 for 4E. Almost all of the information in it will still be usable as the setting has only advanced 3 years since then. Runner Havens also for 4E would be a little more dated but includes other locations.

The more rule related books are a little more complex. Most SR crunch books include a fair bit of fluff and that information should be usable. The rules content would have to be taken case by case.

For instance.

In Arsenal the vehicles should be easily convertable, the gun stats would have to be adjusted (damage has gone up) and Accuracy would have to be decided on for each gun. The rules would have to be heavily adapted to fit into the new system, but most of them could be made to work if there waas a burning desire.

Unwired on the other hand is pretty much completelty out of date. Even the fluff on the matrix would predate the in setting changes to the grid between 2072 and 2075, and the rules are designed for a system that only vaguely resembles SR5s matrix system.

Will there be a Softcover print book available soon? $60 for HC is a tad spending for me.

Honestly, you don;t want a softcover.  At nearly 500 pages, the Softcover is just too damn big.  There were a limited number printed as softcovers for Origins, and they're very...  flimsy.  The book is just too big for that style of cover.

Plus, when you're printing a book with almost 500 full color pages, the hardcover isn't really effecting the price very much.  The Origins book was still $50.

Yeah, if you're using the book for anything other than shelf decor, you'll want a HC.  A 480-page SC will not last long in play...it curls and crumples too easily (or collapses like a dying star under its own weight) just sitting in a backpack.

People complain about RPG core book pricing, and I'll admit that I was one of those.  But expensive core books are not new; it's the evolution of the market.  The Iron Kingdoms RPG core book (released last year) had a cover price of $59.99 for a 360-page HC, as did its latest HC Kings, Nations, and Gods for a 384-page HC (released at Gen Con this year).  Even the Pathfinder Core Rulebook sold for $49.99 for a 576-page HC in 2009, and Paizo sold a couple of moving pallets of those just at Gen Con 2009 (so they could probably count on a bit of economics of scale, plus they sell their core supplements for $40 each).  Fantasy Flight routinely pushes their HC core books at $59.99 (Only War had 400 pages, Star Wars:  Edge of the Empire had 448 pages).

In all cases, the production values have gone way up from the 1980s $20 B&W corebooks with line art.  I wouldn't mind seeing a "minimalist edition" (with just the rules and no art) just to carry slightly less dead tree around at cons (or even in PDF to make them run faster on tablet PDF readers), but I don't think it's worth it for the company to publish.
Guiding principle for game balance:  Players avoid underpowered stuff and flock to overpowered stuff.

The book quality is fantastic though and the artwork spot-on for this edition. I think the extra ambiance makes it worth the price.  I even ended up springing for the limited edition since I found out about a new job while I was at Gencon. Good karma when that news came through despite the packing issues the book caused lol.

I'm sure I actually saw in the magic section the name of the future magic sourcebook, but I haven't got my book on hand to check (Well, I do have it on my phone, along with all of my shadowrun books, but that is a bitch to search through)

Firing Line just got put up on DriveThru. Presumably it's also available on Battlecorps.

Unsuprisingly, I was wrong. It just mentions "future sourcebook", which I was kinda expecting anyway, being a greedy person who cannot get enough of a Shadowrun fix.
