"If I'm spotted turning it back on, it'll be because you told me to, chief" answers Rat. "Is eating gum acceptable to the Johnson?" follows the ork, chewing loudly on his piece of gum to let the room's occupants know it was harmless.

Spooky miles, filing away that bit of information, and places his belongings in the bag, including an old lollipop he'd completely forgotten about.  Huh.  Wonder if that's still any good?  I know it's not one of the ones laced with trackers...... he thought, as the machines scanned him, Oh, right, that's the licorice one Jake fobbed off on me.  Stuff's fraggin' nasty, if you ask me, but it does sometimes help on a stakeout.  Seems the Ancients and Laesa are not as tight as people might think.  That, or the Laesa really don't understand that the folks they are dealing with here are the real core of the gang, not the exception.

Rat
Quinten stops smiling. "Mister Featherstone. I don't know what you'll be asked but I do know who you are meeting with. And while I haven't spent quite enough time with my client to fully gauge his sense of humor, I can assure you that he takes his... 'business' very, very serious. Deadly serious. I will not be present when you meet with him and I would have thought this to be very clear already, but for your own sake let me just point out: this is not a laughing matter."

"Alright, no fooling around. Got it" says Rat as he puts his gear in the duffel bag presented to him. He just dumped whatever he was taking out of his pockets, in no order whatsoever, but kept the credstick Quinten had given him earlier on himself. Once that was done, he deactivated his Move-by-Wire and got up, asking "Was there anything else?"

The Majors reaction wasn't one he had expected.  When he started to go on about the UCAS military Boomers own ire started to rise.  It showed in his reaction as he stepped forward into the table moving it a bit.  His his palms resting on its flat, if dirty, surface.  His baritone voice raised a few decibels cutting him off.  "I'm not here representing the UCAS just myself with my own honor you..."   He was angry and was about to derail this little meeting with a few derogatory names but Quinten stepped in before they fell into that quagmire.

Boomer looked at Quinten as he spoke.  He had an alternative.  It would work but he wasn't keen on allowing someone else to put an agent on his internal comlink.  "I'm not liking the thought of having an agent from someone else on my link.  May I propose a alternative?  I copy it to my external one and then wipe it clean.  You man goes in and checks it verifies its clean.  I wear the headjammer and your man again verifies its still clean when the meet is over.  A slight change but the same results."  He finished looking at Quinten.  He looked back to the Major and backed away from the table slightly.

"The rules could certainly do with rewriting by someone with a few more braincells, but until that day at least it helps people like me out." After the Cyberware locking he thanks everyone for their understanding and bows to them elegantly. "Screwing them out would have taken so very much longer though."

Upon reentering the interrogation room, he gestures to the new Elf. "I, Three Star, Presume you are the team member who was brought in before us?"

Boomer
The major's face starts to turn red and he opens his mouth to say something but Quinten puts his hand on his shoulder and manages to keep him quiet and on his chair.
"I understand your reluctance allowing others to install something on your implants, mister Smith. But please understand that my suggestion only involves that piece of software to make sure there is no temptation for you to resist and no way for you to fail to meet the set conditions.
Your alternative could be acceptable but there would need to be additional conditions. If you fail to resist temptation and turn on your commlink for even a second before we return here, or attempt to record so much as a single picture or sound bite, your life will be forfeit.
The choice is yours."

The major, it seems, would really like Boomer to take the second option.

Boomer listened to Quinten as he spoke.  The proposed alternative would work but the look on the Majors face was almost screaming for him to take the second option.  He let out a sigh that rumbled a bit as he retook his seat.  This was their game for him to play along.  He didn't like it one bit.  His gaze was neutral as he looked at the Major.

Turning his head to Quinten he nodded.  "Alright I don't like it but I'll do it your way.  You have been straight with us so far.  The least I can do is play by your rules."  He brought up his ARO and with a few mental commands he backed up his Battle Buddy to his back up link.  With another thought he executed the command to wipe the clean to factory standards.  A few more seconds passed as he made sure it was clean and rebooted it.

When it came back online and gave Quinten a nod.  "It's been wiped.  Have your man do his thing.  When the agent is finished its duty I'll shut it down till we get back."

He still wasn't happy.  He knew he was going to be doing a serious going over the comlinks OS before he even thought about it being safe.

The blonde man entered the room as Syra regained her senses. She quickly examined him, a tall fellow, blonde, rather handsome. Things were getting better by the minute.

"Ah, yes, I believe I am. Do you happened to be associated with those uncouth blokes out there? I swear they have no clue on how to treat women properly, what with raising their guns and rubbing their hands all over my body. Makes a woman like me rather uncomfortable, not a good first impression, you know? And that Quinten? Much nicer, I have to say, although he is rather coy with his words. I swear I could hear him grinning behind his concern, if you know what I mean. Oh, but look at me, gabbin' away while the night is still young. Syra, techie and information savant extraordinaire."

Syra stuck her hand out to the man, who had been staring at her rapid-fire speech with raised eyebrows.

Rat

"That will be all for now, mister Featherstone. Please follow the soldier to the next room, you can wait there for the rest of your team."
Rat is brought into the room where Three Star and Syra are waiting.

Boomer

A wireless connection suddenly pops up and a message gets pushed to Boomer's commlink, asking permission to be installed with admin rights and full access to all system resources. He grudgingly accepts and watches as the agent installs itself, initiates a low-level format of all non-volatile storage, runs a scan over the system memory and places itself firmly in between the input channels of your cybereyes and -ears and the system's storage systems. Before going into stand-by, It sends a single Sperethiel word towards the second wireless connection.
A few seconds later Quinten stands up with a satisfied smile, the major copies the movement but displays a negative of the face.
"Thank you for your cooperation, mister Smith. Not to worry, the file required to deactivate and remove the agent has already been sent to you. Now if you'd please put on the headjammer, we can proceed with our last guest and then continue on our way."
As if on cue, the commlink emits a short bleep and the status light indicating unread messages starts blinking.
The bag is closed and Boomer is guided towards the second interrogation room where Syra, Three Star and Rat are waiting for him and Spooky to get through the checkpoint.

Spooky

After the same thorough security check the rest of his team underwent -minus the magic- Spooky is cleared to proceed and sent into the same room where the other 3 plus a newcomer are waiting for you.

Boomer nodded to Quinten as he stood and reached for the headjammer.  With a mental command he shutdown his Battle Buddy.  "Like I said a moment ago.  You have been straight with us from the beginning. Considering what you are dealing with here I figure if I can make it easier all the better."  He brought the headjammer up, made sure it was on, and placed it on his head.

He turned to go he shot one last look at the two.  "See you at the meet Quinten.  Major."  His tone on the last word was at cordial but he gave the Ancients officer a nod.

Ushered down the hall Boomer is let into another room.  The look on his face is not one the others had seen before.   He was rather frustrated maybe even angry.  Looking around he noticed a female Elf talking with Rat and Three Star.  Must be the one we were speculating on earlier.

He sighed and smiled "Well I don't think the Major is going to be sending me a Christmas card this year.  We will need to watch him.  He does not like having us here.   Then again I didn't exactly help maters.  I gotta work on that."  He said as he adjusted the headjammer, it was making his head itch, and walked over to the young Elf woman and extending a hand.  "You can call me Boomer."  He looked at her headjammer.  "I do hope you are our matrix support."

Spooky enters the room with the others, and notices the new addition.  "I see you found that pretty elf lady you were talking about." he chuckles, "You can call me Spooky.  Or much else you please.  So long as it's not late for dinner or drinks."

He looks her over for a moment, then nods.  "You're our Matrix support, miss?  Here's hoping this doesn't go sour on us.  At least this early."

He takes a seat, and looks around.  "I don't think any of the Ancients like the idea of anyone being here that isn't one of them, Boomer.  If our earlier speculations were right, this is a pretty closely held secret of theirs, and they're not too fond of letting that information out.  And Quinten and his bosses seem to have just waltzed in and commandeered the place for their personal use.  So, yeah, the Major's a bit pissed.  Understandably, I think.  But he can't do anything about the real reason he's pissed, so we now get to walk on eggshells around him.  Joy of joys."

Three Star shook her hand then returned to his previous seat as the others arrived.

"I do not see why you are all having so much trouble with them, they were quite cooperative with me."

"Not trouble, so much as this has the potential to get very bad, very fast." Spooky said, "If our employers are the Laesa, they are trampling over some things the Ancients want kept quite, and throwing a lot of weight around to do so.  This means that the Laesa are goading the Ancients, and using us to do it, possibly by accident.  And if it's deliberate, it means there's about to be a power struggle here, and I'd really prefer not to be in this particular building when that kicks off."

Rat walks into the other room after his interrogation and immediately notices the elf woman. Not knowing if she was working with one of the gangs or the fifth member of the group, he smiled at her and asked her "Hello beautiful, I don't believe we've met yet. I'm Rat, you are...?" as he takes a seat, ignoring Three Star.

Once the others get in the room, listening to Spooky, Rat answers "Not necessarily. It's common knowledge on the streets that the Laesa and the Ancients sometimes work together. As with every gang, nobody wants to be on the bottom, so it looks like they're just trying to prove to one another that they are the dominant one and not the other way around."

He takes a moment of reflection and continues with "And this base of operations is not secret at all. I'm sure anyone within a 5 km radius knows who owns this building."
