Tweety answered in a matter of minutes.
@Matt: >>A little busy right now but if you get down to Tacoma, to my office, I can fit you in. Or I can send Sam over, he has a secure line to me and we can talk. Well, as secure as anything can be these days. Which will it be?<<

//I could do with the fresh air, I'll hop in the car and be over in a bit. Want me to grab some soycaf on my way in?//

Matt locks up the garage and heads over the courtyard and up the stairs to the apartment.
"Yo, Leroy, grab one of those samples and get ready. We're heading off to see Tweety in Tacoma."

"You want a bodyguard," Jade asked.  She could do with a trip.  All that sitting here was starting to get on her nerves, even if she could work away the agression with training.

Yeah, fuck it. lets all head out, sitting in here is gonna drive us crazy otherwise. I'll get the car ready, meet you round the front.
Matt puts on his long jacket and slips his pistol into the concealed holster in the inside lining before grabbing his link and heading downstairs.
He pulls up to the front and waits for the guys to jump in.
I was gonna swing by that coffee place on the way, you guys fancy one?

"Sounds good, I'll have a grande latte double espresso Italian blend, light on the froth, heavy on the cinnamon with a shot of raspberry," Jade said, giving her favourite as she got into the car.  She had put on her armour and brought her whip and gun, leaving the bow at home for now.

The tweaks to the car had worked wonders, It felt like brand new again.
The shimmering AR console responded deftly to Matt's commands as he eased up the throttle and ventured out into traffic.
Pulling into the drive-thru at Cafe-24, Matt placed the orders and headed on towards Tacoma, following GridGuide's route

Leroy threw on a new t-shirt with a Fresh Leef logo on it before equipping his shoulder holster and pistol.  He grabbed his new shotgun and took a minute to admire himself in the mirror.

Yeah, I look fuckin' GANGSTA...

He was horribly over equipped, but he didn't know any better.  He remembered to bring his spare clips but not any extra ammo for his shotgun.

He grabbed the samples and threw them in the medkit before heading out to their ride.

You arrived at the same, worn building as the first time. The garage door slid up silently as you drew near, and closed behind you automatically. This time, Jim was the one that did the weapons check, and he missed the whip as his brother did before, but made you leave all other weapons. Up on the second floor, he led you in a different room than the last time. ”Boss is busy right now, I will come back when he’s ready.” With that, he left you in a room furnished with comfortable chairs and a sofa, but otherwise bare.

After five minutes, he came back to lead you to the meeting room you already knew. Tweety and Sam were already there. When you took your places, the dwarf greeted you and asked what all this was about.

As Tweety and Sam took their seats, Matt piped up
Afternoon guys, thanks for seeing us at short notice.
Look I know you're busy so I'll cut to the chase.
When we were in the rider, Leroy managed to get some samples off of the corpses.
He's been busy with that chemistry kit you fitted us up with ever since we got it. I'm sure you'll find the information as horrifying as it is valuable.

Matt looks at Leroy, gesturing for him to elaborate...

Leroy left the shotgun in the car, but otherwise turned in his pistol at the security checkpoint.

After Matt's introduction, he began:

"I had taken a sample from a corpse at The Rider.  I ran some chemical testing on it and found a carrier agent for nanites..."

He continued on, pretty much repeating the conversation that had been had with the others in their living room only shortly before.  He spoke about not only who could have done this to them but how it could possibly affect them should they get within signal range to activate the nanites that are quite possibly still inside them.  He lastly shared his hypothesis on why they weren't affected in the same way because they had been meant to be scapegoats for whoever attacked The Rider.

As Leroy went on with the summary, Tweety furrowed his brow more by the minute. You had the feeling at one point that his attention was partly elsewhere, but he didn’t cut in, letting you to finish uninterrupted. He was silent for a few more seconds after Leroy finished, then smiled reassuringly. ”Well, I can say that preliminary scans that I had run right now showed no signs of any nano-system currently active within the room. However, as reassuring it sounds, I’d still suggest a full medical examination for each of you, starting from a GP’s office, ECGs, EEGs, and whatever Doc Roe and the Butcher can think of. You know, just to be sure everything is all right. By the way, both are excellent street docs who don’t ask questions, I just want to avoid any complications by sending you to two different places.
Actually, this is a thing I’ve been thinking about doing from the start, it’s just that so much else is going on, I never got to telling you. Hope it’s no problem, and if any of you want to get some implants in the future, it is a good start to have a familiar face do it.

"Now, as Matt here mentioned, this information really holds some value. How much, I can hardly determine, as it is also extremely dangerous, more dangerous actually than any other info I usually broker. So, instead of trying to negotiate the finer points of risk costs and benefits, I’ll offer you a trade. You will probably need further info on the incident of the Rider, and I intend to run a serious investigation on that. Just so that we see eye-to-eye, not solely for your benefit. Still, I’d usually charge you for any piece of intel I’d throw your way, to reduce my costs. I’m offering you a fair and free trade of information in this: anything I get, it’s yours, anything you get, you share with me. Is this acceptable for you?”

It'll be acceptable until it ain't...

Leroy sat back down, conveying through body language that he would have rather much more preferred something more tangible than a promise, but recognizing that there wasn't anything he could really do to try to force or persuade Tweety.  He had already given up the information and everything had gone the way it had to have gone.  They couldn't have gone in trying to negotiate.

They brought the info to Tweety as a gesture of goodwill and he promised he would reciprocate at another time in the future.

Matt caught the look of frustration in Leroy's eyes and reciprocated it.
He was hoping for something a bit more solid than a gentlemens agreement that neither side could police.
Still, good information was pricey. If vital information was needed further down the line, Matt was grateful that it wasn't going to add to his growing debt pile.
Matt nodded his assent.

Jade also nodded.  At least he had been good to his word up to now and she knew enough about criminal enterprises to know that they wanted stability.  With tensions running as high as they were now, there were a lot more KE patrols and that would hamper everybody doing business.  The faster things went back to normal the better it would be for him, so he would give the information they needed to solve this.  At least, she hoped.  Well, they had not many other options anyways.
