Merry Christmas chummers.  Although as GM I haven't had much to do lately I'm still checking in daily and, yes, Fourclover I will be giving karma - I bet you thought I forgot!

Sadly no bundle of nuyen or case of APDS is sitting beneath the tree this year, but if you're extra good maybe next year.

So I hadn't detailed it with Marlowe before he posted, but I had planned out the detection spirit as an objectivist heroine flying a C-45H (something like the "modern monoplane" she chased Quinn into Galt's Gulch with, if you've read Atlas Shrugged), which makes more sense with an Air Spirit than the railroad metaphor. If no one objects, I was going to post IC as though that were the case. If we just want to "play the ball as it lies" I'm game, just lemme know and I'll edit it.

A friend of mine made an image for Bullpen -- he's wearing more clothing when you see him, but you get the idea :)

If that's how you'd prefer it that's fine with me, but the more details you give me the more convincing I'll be in the portrayal of your spirit.  Because remember, if you don't give me details that means I give details which is always chancy for you!

For future reference (and because I like things to be smooth, lol):
Combat: Hank Rearden in his steel mill work clothes, Ragnar Daaneskold
Detection: Dagny Taggart in a Beech C-45H, Equality 7-x
Health: Man John Galt, D'anconia, Midas Mulligan
Illusion: Hugh Akston, Richard Halley
Manipulation:  Golden Atlas, Howard Roark

I'm pretty sure all of these have wikipedia entries. If it's not clear why which one goes where, lemme know. I put a few in each category since their power loadouts will be unique.

My New Years resolution is to pester the GM about handing out karma less often.  8)  ;D

By the way, I was just looking into Mana Static as a potential spell to pick up (got some Karma and some cash, so why not?); curious how you're getting a version that produces an aspected domain?  Far as I can tell, the book version only does normal background counts (eg, a penalty for everyone).

My New Year's Resolution is to be more creative with character concepts.

Yeah that's going to happen. Next on the news, Clockwork proposes to a Technomancer.

I used the SM custom spell rules and basically upped the drain on mana static. Ironically, by RAW the aspect counts as a limiting factor which would normally reduce drain, but that's just shenanigans. Each aspect should require a different spell, otherwise even more shennaigans.

Just an FYI, I posted this morning and then realized I made a mistake. I removed the post and put up a new one.

I realized this morning as I was heading out to work that I forgot to hand out karma yesterday, and I didn't even have a drunken stupor (or its after effects) as an excuse to blame!  You should all get a message shortly after this is posted.

My New Years Resolution was obviously to frustrate other's resolutions.  I am so far succeeding.  If Fang perishes I shall propose an ex-corp sec street samurai with a drinking problem to MaxKojote as a replacement, because we've never seen one of those before.

I've been shopping around for an initiatory group and came across Benandanti XXV. 14 dice in Magic Theory makes Invictus one of the pre-eminent minds on the topic, and might be ripe for recruitment. Otherwise I was thinking of throwing together an Objectivist themed magical group.
