The Ghillie Suit in Run & Gun has a Wireless Bonus of, and I quote, "Um ... you draw in curious Hackers?".

Hackers, as we all know, carry cyberdecks, which are typically worth far more than the actual mission payout. If you're willing to just stand around somewhere out of the way and hit these curious Hackers over the head as they wander by you could quite easily amass a small fortune (maybe even enough to afford a tacnet!).

Clearly the Ghillie Suit needs to be errata'd, this wireless bonus is absurdly broken.  ;)

On a more serious note, I feel it could be made clearer that Snake Mesh Socks only apply to attacks against the feet. The table is unclear enough that someone is going to try and argue that they add +2 armour. That, or the listed armour bonus on the table really does just add to your armour normally and the special rule is applied on top of that, in which case I expect we'll be seeing every shadowrunner wearing them.

I don't have Run n' Gun yet so I haven't seen the text yet but... a wired Ghillie Suit?  It's camo netting with shredded burlap tied off to it.  I can't even figure out how or why you would wire one in the first place let alone what the bonus would be.  I mean, maybe you could change the colors or something, depending on the terrain you were in or something, but that bonus just doesn't make sense to me.  The Ghillies are for the woods... Most deckers don't even leave their apartments, let alone go for long walks in the northern Cascade mountains with their decks and a pick nick basket.

I believe the wireless bonus was kind of a joke.   ;)

The wireless bonus is literally "Um...  You draw in curious Hackers?" - as in, that's the actual text.  As in, it doesn't really have one; the writer decided to have a bit of fun.

It clearly says they are +2 Armor, and that they also apply against called shot to feet+lowerlegs. Since they're a +2, however, they're an Armor Accessory. So if you have a 2-Strength character, you're not getting these, you're wearing a helmet.

Yeah I like the little jokes in the rules.  "Throw" references being thrown "into the mouth of a sarlacc".

I suspect this was a reaction to the outcry over the chameleon suit being wireless.

I'll be honest, I didn't care for the attempts at humour in the rules section. It's all fine for fluff, but I'd like to see actual, you know, rules when reading, you know, rules. Maybe I'm just jaded...

Not to mention if the joke is in reaction to the Chameleon Suit, there's been nothing done to fix the original joke played on the players. It's just so funny. /sarcasm

Meh - I can see what y'all are saying about keeping rules in rules and fluff in fluff.  But it's not really that big of a deal to me.

I don't mind the joke, personally. I just think it makes the devs look stupid. I mean, it's basically:

Scene: A team of editors reviewing Run & Gun prior to release...

<Raucous laughter from the room>

 "Yeah <laugh>, who would be stupid enough to put a wireless bonus on a piece of gear that's supposed to help you hide or hide things. How dumb!"

<High-Fives all around for being clever>

<Someone opens up the BBB and points to the entries of the Chameleon Suit and Concealable Holster>

<Then this guy shows up>

Look at it this way, at least we got some form of confirmation that people employed by Catalyst read the forums  ;D

The bit about going dark also seems to be a jab at the people who gripe about the wireless bonuses.  It's a bit like poking a bear.  A toothless, wizened old bear.  But a bear nonetheless.  :P

The dumbest wireless bonus IMHO is for the silencer.  I just keep thinking the silencer is going to tell you, "shhh, I think somebody heard us shooting that dude.  Be cool, man, be cool."

The silencer one is useful if you happen to be remote-firing a weapon from some distance away. Lets you know to trigger the conveniently-placed explosives to destroy the gun so it can't be captured and traced back to you.

The ghillie suit? I would expect it would draw in curious bullets, not curious hackers.
