Sure - why not?  :P

It's not legal, but it had the effect of freaking them out, which was what I was going for.

Because that post of yours is now going to be used by players saying "see? I can get APDS for the Gauss Rifle".

I'm starting to dig the Ares Screech Rifle. Shotgun with ACC 6, causes stun damage, and has the potential to eliminate enemies from taking any actions for 3 CTs, plus double their wound penalties? Sign me up!

Downsides: Hella Expensive, EWP requirement

Bah - they can see the other post that I made that said it's not legal, if they want to get their panties in a bunch about it.

This should have been called the Ares Brown Note.  :P

Fashion Armor and Murder Armor for Faces.

Loads of awesome new Archery and Thrown Weapons.  Great for a throwing adept, especially when wrapping boom-bolas with Wireless triggers on 'em.  'Well, yeah, you could try screaming or escaping, but then you get bisected by those grenades.  Now, if you were to give us a good voice sample and the key to the armory, I reckon we'd be happy to send you off to change into a fresh set of pants and a new job.'

Ash Arms monofilament chainsaw, especially underbarrel.  Bye-bye, barrier ratings!

I would like to say the AA16, but sadly since we have lost the ability to use non-standard or extended mags/drums its utility is significantly compromised for suppressive fire.

Once the errata comes out, maybe I'll be able to say the Ares HVAR or the Vindicator minigun, but until we get some supplemental rules on those they're pretty meh.

If the forearm guards can mount any of the stuff that the shadowtalkers mention (cyberweapons, decks, etc.) they could really take top place.

Gauss rifle because its so unapologeticly broken its better than all of the lazer weapons and is 12R. If the ammo was like that everyone would use it.

qazcake;
It's very likely that the 12F (not R) listed in it's entry is incorrect, and that the tables at the end of the book listing it at 24F is the correct entry; it always has been a high avail item.

Furthermore, whether it's better than the equivalent laser weapon, the Archon Heavy MP Laser, is, perhaps, debatable. The Thunderstruck is 15P -8AP SA, while the Archon is 10P -10AP. Both are SA, both are extremely range efficient (though the laser will suffer visibility modifiers to damage), and the Archon has slightly worse capacity with it's 4 power unit per shot over the Thunderstruck's 1 and a magazine capacity of 10.

The biggest question is what ammo the Thunderstruck uses; if it can fire other types of ammo it wins out easily, if not we don't have an ammunition cost for it that I can find.

The availability is supposed to be 24F, as stated in the Run & Gun tables, on page 207.  I believe one of the freelancers commented on this in the Run & Gun Errata thread.

I don't see why it would be able to fire other ammo types - it's an assault cannon, and should be firing assault cannon ammo.

Ok I did not see that when me and my gm where looking over it. I got to go tell him the news.

That could be a problem if AV (or indeed any other Assault Cannon variant) rounds are re-introduced, is all I'm saying.

If I remember correctly, in 4E the Thunderstruck only had the one default ammo type.

That is very true.  Curious that not all of the ammunition types made it into Run & Gun.  Perhaps this is an attempt at lessening the bookkeeping from 4th edition?

Its ammo type, Gauss Rifle, is in the Ammo Whammy! section. So it's its own ammo type it seems. As for the costs... Same as default AC I guess?

I'm guessing so. Still, might be best to bring it up in the Errata thread for it.

There's a time when an under barrel chainsaw isn't right?  :o

I've used both guns and chainsaws and the idea of an under barrel chainsaw will never seem right.
