Snow rolls the rest of her dice to try to intimidate Yuri.

Extra roll for Intimidation: 3d6t5 1

Well, at least I got one hit this time.

I will say that I applaud Sam's technique.  Well done, in my opinion.

I know there's nothing Sammy can do magically, just role-playing here ;)

Remember Thvor, you can't get blood from a stone.  Torley can probably get the information out of anyone, but it has to be the right anyone.  The goings on of a banger are not going to be known to a crowd of movie people, you need to hit the street.

Yeah, he knew it was a long shot when he tried, though everything he'd heard about LA made it sound like the "who's who" spent a lot of time watching the Pitos of the low-lifes, so there was at least a possibility. He's out of his element, but trying to learn to swim in the new waters as fast as possible. :) And, of course, part of his frustration is simply the fact that they have such a short deadline & will probably have to be working all night after standing guard all day. I wouldn't like that, either.

Out of curiosity, how far is the hole-in-the-wall we're aiming at from our hotel?

Far enough away to be in a whole different tax bracket, close enough that it is about a 15 minute drive if the lights go your way.

Sam's going to get his guns, but doesn't have anything else to do to prep. He's willing to head over to the bar ahead of the gang to start asking around, though I do have a couple questions:

1) Would his astral chameleon character quality interfere with Sammy being able to use him as a spotter?
2) How out-of-place is he going to look? Does he need to change before he goes?

Yes, your Astral Chameleon quality would make you a poor choice for a spotter.  You would be going from a high class club to a hole in the wall bar, so yes, to look appropriately you would want to change, but considering your Blandness quality it probably won't matter as much for you as for Clem or Sammy.

Hole in the wall sounds up O'Connor's alley.

Why do I need a spotter?  If I recall correctly I just need to know where I'm going and I can go there in the astral by leaving my body behind (in my hotel room).  I just need to get a spirit and maybe someone else to guard it, just to be sure.  In the astral I can fly around and if I know where it is (and if I recognise the spot, I can always look up the address), I can just go there, just as you could in the 'meat'.

If Sammy doesn't mind, why not just do that while she is in the car on the way to the place?

If you leave your body and that body moves, then it's more difficult to find it back.  It's best to do this in a location where your body is safe and doesn't move, so you know where it is when you have to go back.  You can only stay 'Magic' hours outside of your body if I recall correctly, so having to go looking for your body is not a good idea.

It isn't a big deal one way or the other, the rules are a little vague on that point.  My argument in requesting the spotter is that you haven't been to that bar in a while so you aren't truly familiar with getting there, you can't read signs while astral and there is a background count to consider in most parts of Los Angeles.  Without something familiar to act as a spotter you should easily be able to get into the area, but picking out the exact building might be tougher.

When I get into the vicinity I can go a bit up in the air (in the astral you can do that), and I can materialise to have a look around in the material world before I switch back to the astral.  A bit like what I did when we were on that mountain, right at the beginning.  I can make sure that I'm not spotted when I do that by hiding behind something when I look around (an antenna on a roof or something like that).

Manifesting only allows you to be seen and to be heard, it doesn't change YOUR perception at all.  The reason you were able to do it on the mountain was that you had the anchor of your bonded items to guide you (the items were your spotter then).  I glossed over it in game but it wasn't so easy to find the warehouse.

We're driving to the place, so I guess it would be easier to find your body back, since we're going to the bar Sammy will be scoping out. But I understand if you want to play it safe :)
