So, I have finished the first part of the AmmoNation Arms Expo for 2071.  As of yet, there are no pictures, just corporations and gear that I have homebrewed.  I'm still working on it, so if you PMed me with you idea, it is on the drawing board, and will not be added here.. yet.  Also, I changed the location of the expo to Free Cairo.

That said, I think I appreciate your feedback on these items, but I would also like you to comment on them as though you were your character, or characters you enjoy, and as though you had used or field tested these weapons, like the old Street Samurai Catalog.

Upcoming entries will include electronic warfare systems and vehicles.

Because I am limited to 20,000 characters, and this document is a lot longer than that, I shall post the items by their producing corporation in a long series of not-at-all monomaniacal replies to myself.

Well, here goes:

Weapons

Rising Sun Bladeworks (CalFree)
Rising Sun is a holdover from the days when General Saito ran CalFree.  Saito’s personal armorer, Junichi, was left behind when the Imperial Japanese forces withdrew.  He tried to find work but no one would hire a native Japanese who spoke broken English until he met Brandon Nini, formerly of Cougar bladeworks.  The two of them leveraged everything they had to get the startup capital to create a company that sells high-end melee weapons that blends ancient layering techniques with the latest production methods.  Each weapon is ground and assembled by hand and any can be made into a weapon focus.

Products:
-Sosen Katana
Rising Sun’s flagship model, the Sosen Tachi (ancestor sword) is an induction-bonded, hand-layered katana made from atomically pure alloys joined under intense heat in a zero gravity induction furnace.  The result is a stunning work of art that can be used to carve up the opposition in style.

|Accuracy: 8|Reach: 1|Damage: (Str+4)P|AP: -4|Avail: 12R| Price: ¥4,000|

Options: For an extra ¥1,800, the river of the blade can be altered to a repeating design the user sends in.  Favorites include pixel squares, personal mottoes and cartoon characters.

-Sosen Tanto
The popularity of the Sosen Katana has given rise to a tactical knife to meet the demands of today’s elite small units.  The tanto is geometrically designed to give maximum armor penetration on a thrust, and the 17.78x.56 cm blade is sturdy enough to support up to 135 kg—enough for even an Ork to hang from.

|Accuracy: 7|Reach: 0|Damage: (Str+2)P|AP: -4|Avail: 8| Price: ¥900|

Options: For an extra ¥600, the river of the blade can be altered to a repeating design the user sends in.  Favorites include pixel squares, personal mottoes and cartoon characters.  The
Black Ops edition is matte-black, can be used as a bayonet (gaining reach + 2) and costs ¥980.

Lianhua Armaments (Taiwan)
Lianhua started as a federalized Chinese weapons factory that created such a surplus in the 2040’s that they essentially bought their way out from under the thumb of the Red government.  They specialize in (what else?) extremely cheap, mass-produced weapons that they use to flood markets everywhere.  Their weapons are simple, effective and cheap.  Lianhua weapons always consist of the bare minimum of casings for moving parts and cannot accept internal accessories of any kind.

-Zhandou Assault Rifle
The Zhandou is the most cost-effective assault rifle on the market.  Our flagship assault rifle requires almost no maintenance, and omits the features you don’t need such as a fire selector and safety features to bring you a quality weapon at rock bottom prices!    Although the weapon cannot take internal accessories, it has rails for top, side and underbarrel mounts.  With its ambidextrous ejection port, it’s so simple, a child can use it!

|Accuracy: 4|Damage: 9P|AP: -1|Mode: BF/FA|RC: 0|Ammo: 35c|Avail: 3r| Price: ¥350|

//Since changing the ejection port would be cost-prohibitive with Lianhua’s approach to weapons manufacturing, their ‘ambidextrous ejection port’ actually shoots brass straight up.
Although the weapon cannot take internal accessories, it has mounts for top, side and underbarrel mounts.  The Zhandou does not even use a stock.  Instead, an aramid strap is clipped to the back of the weapon and stability is achieved by pushing forward while firing.

-Han Zhang-2 Heavy Pistol

Lianhua is proud to announce that we have heard your requests and will continue to produce the Han Zhang-2 service pistol for the foreseeable future.  With its proven reliability and cost-effectiveness, our new manufacturing process brings you the classic Han Zhang-2 at even lower prices!

|Accuracy: 4|Damage: 7P|AP: -1|Mode: SA|RC: 0|Ammo: 15c|Avail: 3r| Price: ¥210|

-Jiandan Light Pistol

Bringing you a full pistol at holdout prices, Lianhua is proud to unveil the Jiandan—the everyman’s sidearm.  With a collapsible grip, the Jiandan fits perfectly into a purse or a credstick holster while sacrificing none of Lianhua’s legendary reliability or affordability.

|Accuracy: 5|Damage: 6P|AP: 0|Mode: SA|RC: 0|Ammo: 14c|Avail: 3r| Price: ¥170|

Sochong Risk Control (Korea)
This A corp is known for its range of SOTA smartweapons which are typically geared for military use.  They typically get lots of feedback and testing from the Korean army’s dustups with their numerous and heavily-armed neighbors.  Shadowrunners generally do not require heavy machineguns with smartmounts that automatically shoot around their teammates in the ¥40k range, but one gem jumped out at me.

Groznij Jungle-8c Combat Shotgun
King of the jungle!  This ruggedized, caseless shotgun is your best friend in hostile territory, whether it’s repelling critters or recon by fire, the Groznij delivers.  A high-capacity, caseless magazine ensures you don’t need to reload until you want to and Groznij’s tungsten monofilament chain bayonet means you can effortlessly fell trees to clear an LZ, or cut that pesky troll merc clean in two.  This year’s model, the 8c is powered by Sochong’s patented wave/motion cycling capacitors for longer-lasting cutting power.  Don’t forget to wear your eye protection, this baby gets messy!

Shotgun:
|Accuracy: 4(6)|Damage: 10P|AP: -1|Mode: SA/BF|RC: 2|Ammo: 28c|Avail: 11f| Price: ¥3880|

Chain Bayonet
|Accuracy: 4|Reach: 1|Damage: (Str+6)P|AP: -4| Damage vs inanimate objects is (Str/2)+10P
Comes with Shock Pad and Smartlink.  The chain bayonet takes the shotgun’s underbarrel mount.

Body Armor

Aegistar (Ares, UCAS)
Aegistar was contracted in 2058 to make body armor for the elite units of the UCAS.  Their contract ran out in 2065 and was not renewed, so Aegistar decided to start armoring the other side.  Their designs, while not revolutionary, were clever enough that Ares recently bought them out, and now markets them for body armor the way a corporation might market a fashion house to affluence victims.

Storm Front Armored Jacket
Made for the armed professional who expects trouble, the Storm Front is designed to protect you from the worst of the 6th World and includes a fire retardant, vapor-repellant outer shell with aerogel insulation, all protected by Aegistar’s signature layered, nonconductive soft armor system.  The Storm Front keeps you in the game versus all comers.

Armor Rating: 12|Avail: 5|Cost: ¥5,500|

The Storm Front always has rating 2 insulation, rating 4 fire resistance, rating 4 chemical protection and rating 6 nonconductivity.  Because it is purpose-built, it exceeds the maximum capacity for armor by 2, and cannot be further modified.

Normandy Advanced Infantry Footwear
They say the first casualty of war is your feet, but fear not!  Aegistar unveiled these amphibious combat monsters at the 2069 Weapons World Ammo Nation expo, and due to their overwhelming popularity, we upgraded them again in 2070 with advanced, armored shin, knee and instep protection!  Step into the finest footwear and lower extremity protection money can buy.  Smart materials mold to your feet and keep you in the fight longer.  Did you have to swim to your operation?  No problem!  Normandy Advanced Infantry Footwear now incorporates a wireless smart system that uses active osmosis pumps to keep your feet as warm and dry as you want them.

Armor Rating: +1|Avail: 8|Cost: ¥1800|

Normandy Advanced Infantry Footwear always adds +1 to the armor value, chemical protection, fire resistance, insulation and nonconductivity of any worn armor.

Options: Can be upgraded to incorporate a single point of monosilk weave for ¥1,000.  Each point of Monosilk weave on armor adds its full value to monofilament attacks.  This bonus is cumulative with monosilk upgrades to worn armor.

Moleculite (UCAS)
Moleculite spent most of the 2060’s flying under the radar with very few patents or new products, but at the WWAN, they exploded back onto the market with a new line of form-fitting body armor re-tooled for both high fashion and bodyguarding work.  Also, strippers wear it.  No joke; they had the best booth at the expo, hands down.

Products:

Form-Fitting Body Armor
Moleculite’s 2070 line brings back the world famous form-fitting densiplast body armor for a new decade with our new Commando line.  For those who are going for a particular shape, check out our new Pygmalion compression armor, both lines come with our famous smartwick technology to keep you dry and comfortable until the mission is over.

Form Fitting Body Armor I (torso only)

Armor Rating:  5|Avail: 3|Cost: ¥350|
Form-Fitting Body Armor II (torso, upper arms and upper legs)

Armor Rating:  7|Avail: 4|Cost: ¥500|
Form-Fitting Body armor III (torso, upper arms and upper legs)

Armor Rating:  9|Avail: 4|Cost: ¥750|

Form-Fitting body armor is designed to be low-key and does not count toward a character’s encumbrance from layered armor.

Options: can be purchased in any combination of opacity and/or transparency with any pattern
printed on it standard.  Comes in matte, glossy and mirror finish.  Can, with a sample, be made to exactly mirror skin, with realistic sweat (wicking technology) Adding 2 to the concealability.

Industri Senjata (Malaysia)
Senjata Industries mostly makes ablative and reactive blast armor for tanks and APCs across the PPG, but occasionally, they make something for everyday consumers when they need a financial shot in the arm.  Oh, it’s pronounced ‘loss-a-case’ for those whose linguasofts don’t include Malay.

Products:

Lasakase Ruggedized Cyberdeck Casings
Do you find that putting your cyberdeck in harm’s way makes it impossible to concentrate on the mission?  Senjata has the solution!  Our forges, compression nanogels and tempering furnaces can produce cases custom-tailored for the mission at hand.  When you must bring sensitive electronics onto the battlefield, your team depends on the very best—Senjata.

Lasakase Protector–Rated to withstand a fall from 5m and submersion to a depth of up to 10m
Armor Rating: 10|Avail: 7r|Cost: ¥550

Lasakase Shield—Rated to withstand a fall from 10m and submersion to a depth of up to 25m
Armor Rating: 14|Avail: 9r|¥750

Lasakase Castle-- Rated to withstand a fall from 15m and submersion to a depth of up to 75m
Armor Rating: 20|Avail: 12r|¥1,000

Lasakase armor can be upgraded just as with worn armor, using the following table:
Armor Quality   Cost
Insulation   Rating x  ¥100
Heat Shielding   Rating x  ¥100
Corrosion Resistance   Rating x  ¥100
Nonconductivity*   Rating x  ¥150
*Nonconductivity also counts as EMP shielding.

Dvorach Naoruzanje (Dvorach Systems) (Croatia)
Dvorach is a relatively new outfit to come out of the former state of Yugoslavia and they have reaped the benefits of their tolerance when they took in all of the non-muslim refugees from Turkey’s abortive expansion into Eastern Europe in 2031.  Many of these refugees included prominent scientists and businessmen, who collaborated in several startups, the most prominent of which is Dvorach Systems.  They mostly assemble airframes which are built elsewhere, and their expertise lies in best practice and efficient labor, but they do have a small R&D department which has produced a staggering array of avionics improvement and one standout piece of armor.

Products:

Daedalus Flight Suit
The skies of the 6th world have become a decidedly unfriendly place, and only the most augmented pilots can hope to survive the rigors of high-speed air combat—a process that is frought with long-term debilitating effects on the body.  Dvorach is proud to announce the Daedalus smart flight suit.  Improving on the battle-tested air bladder design with the latest in biotech systems interfacing with on-board avionics to ensure maximum pilot consciousness for maximum pilot performance.

Armor Rating: 9|Avail: 9r|¥1,950

The Daedalus Flight Suit adds 1 to the limit of characters attempting to remain conscious due to high-G maneuvers and comes with rating 2 corrosion resistance and rating 2 Insulation.  It may not be further modified.  Wireless:  The Daedalus Flight Suit adds +2 dice to tests to resist the effects of high-G maneuvers and for crashes.

Forrester (CAS)
Forrester makes high-end outdoor gear for big game hunters with more money than sense, though it should be noted that their products are of the highest comfort and quality, despite the label markup, Forrester has recently expanded into military armor, going in a different direction than the current generation of heavier armor.

Products

-Tropical Expeditionary Recon Armor
The number one source of fatigue in most of the world’s war zones is heat.  Heat can paralyze a unit before it even reaches the combat zone and is compounded by the necessity of full body armor on today’s battlefield.  Forrester’s TERA combines the latest in aerogel and body-powered heat recycling technology to create armor with active cooling to keep you cool and dry, whether you’re in the depths of Amazonia waiting to bag the big one or waiting in ambush under the dunes of Morocco in July.

Armor Rating: 12|Avail: 12r|¥3,450

This armor consists of a modular tactical armor jumpsuit combined with a hard vest and plate array to cover vital areas.  The armor is always purchased with a certain terrain in mind and adds 1 to the physical limit for attempts to sneak in that terrain.  The armor also comes with rating 4 Heat Resistance, Rating 4 Cold Resistance and Rating 6 Thermal Damping.  It may not be further modified.

TERA II
Forrester has heard the demands of the market and created a chameleonic version of its award winning TERA system for the Weapons World AmmoNation Expo, 2071

Armor Rating: 12|Avail: 14r|¥5,500

The TERA II has Rating 4 Insulation, Rating 4 Heat Resistance and Rating 6 Thermal Damping.  It may not be further modified.  In addition, it adds 2 to the physical limit for sneaking tests made while active camouflage is powered on.  Wireless: The suit uses extra information about your surroundings and gives you a +2 dice pool bonus to Sneaking Tests for hiding.

Toys
This is a catch-all for gear that isn’t really military or shadowrun-specific, but might play a role in your proclivities, legal or illegal.

Hydra Royale (South Africa)
Hydra Royale is the biggest manufacturer of sports paraphernalia that you have never heard of.  They manufacture little themselves, but serve as a large-scale distributor for much smaller start-up companies.  If these companies prove viable, Hydra Royale buys them and continues to sell under the original imprint.  You would be shocked to find out how much of your sporting goods have the snake and trident stamp somewhere.

Products:

Hydrakite|Avail: 8|¥3100

Thy Hydrakite is SOTA nanopolymer sheet with in-built shape memory ribbing.  The end result is a kite with a primitive rig interface whose shape can be altered for for snowkiting, kite surfing, or used as a parachute.  It adds +2 dice to freefall tests and athletics tests for wind-powered sports.  Unlike normal kites, the Hydrakite can fold and furl itself into its chest harness as a complex action.  It can be deployed as a free action.

Jungle Toy (Aztlan)
Jungle toy started off making paintball markers and dirt bike armor—of course, you don’t get to play ball in Aztlan without cutting Aztechnology in on the action, so they are partially owned and influenced by the big A, but this seems to have enhanced their reputation as a think tank for creating more and more exotic circumstances for their jungle games.  Catering to the high-end combat sports enthusiasts, they eventually bought a couple of abandoned prison to create the ultimate combat sports arena.  While their events aren’t in danger of overtaking Urban Brawl of Combat Biker, if you haven’t seen one of these jungle fights, you’re missing out.  Occasionally, Jungle Toy will use Aztechnology’s vastly greater manufacturing power to create the few physical objects their researchers conceive.  The results have been pretty esoteric, but here are a few gems that might help you get into places where you aren’t welcome.

Products:

-Fusion Piton
Are you the only mountain climber on your team?  Need to effect a rescue, but there just isn’t time to set proper equipment?  Jungle Toy now offers a piton which gives you a handhold anywhere—period.  The Fusion Piton injects a series of monofilament tendrils into a surface which then curl back in on themselves.  The result is a handhold with clearance for a carabineer that will hold up to 800kg--guaranteed.

|Avail: 9|¥450

The Fusion Piton can be deployed as a simple action and will instantly adhere permanently to any stable surface and this bond is proof up to 800 kg.  The surface, itself, must actually be able to support whatever weight is put on it--anchoring the piton to unstable shale, for example...

And, because someone, sometime will try it...

Desert Spear of Cairo (Cairo Free State)
Ramah Alsahra Alqahira, as they are known in their hometown, is the Arabic face of Israeli arms manufacturer Gideon Arms.  They are very careful to maintain the illusion of autonomy from Tel Aviv, but don’t be fooled—Gideon owns them outright, and their weapons are all that you would expect of Israeli manufacturing without the Kosher markup.

Products

-amphibious gear that I haven't designed yet.  This entry is a placeholder.

Warlock Nanotech Solutions (Belgium)
Warlock is a skunkworks specializes in high-end proof-of-concept custom gear with the caveat that they are allowed to market the items once a certain amount of time (usually a year) has passed.  This gives their customers time to use the gear to gain a competitive advantage and absolves the company of any involvement when a piece of gear made by them turns up in connection with a high profile shadowrun or assassination.  While they do not produce nanomachines for public use, they do use them in heavily EM-shielded universal constructors, owing to Belgium’s lax laws regarding nanotechnology.

Products:

Nanochute – This hermetically sealed package is about the size of an early 21st century fashion magazine and is deployed by pulling a loop at the top, which explosively deploys the carbon/sillicate chute.  To be used correctly, a nanochute’s rating should be equal to the Body of the character + 1 per 20kg the user is carrying.  Note that the costs for metahuman use is already factored into this cost.  Exceeding the maximum body rating will shred the chute on deployment and will cause a silvery trail of disintegrating nanocloth as the user plummets to the earth.    A nanochute is one use only, as the materials that compose it degrade quickly in air.  For an extra ¥600, a piece of clothing or armor can be modified to contain and conceal the nanochute, along with discrete straps to handle the weight of the metahuman wearing the armor.

Nanochute

Price: Rating x ¥600|Weight: .2 kg
Options: ¥600 to add to clothing.  The modification is permanent and reloadable, though each chute is still one use only.

Monosilk
Monosilk is a fabric made from insulated monofilament that is sandwiched between two sheets of more common fabric.  This typically takes the form of an upper body garment or muffler.  Monofilament whips and garrotes have trouble slicing through monosilk, though other kinds of projectiles and blades penetrate them without incident.

Monosilk weave
Price: Rating x ¥1,000|Availability: (Rating) x2. This modification can be added to any piece of armor and adds its full rating to the armor when defending against monofilament attacks.

I would change the Zhandou Assault Rifle to where it ejects downward. Upward ejection ports are generally considered a bad idea because sometimes the spent cases can go down someone's shirt.

Also, form-fitting body armor is in Run and Gun, and is actually more expensive than the options you present here. Not saying you should remove them, but adjusting the prices or protection value wouldn't be bad.

Lasakase Ruggedized Cyberdeck Casings

-Tropical Expeditionary Recon Armor
The number one source of fatigue in most of the world’s war zones is heat.  Heat can paralyze a unit before it even reaches the combat zone and is compounded by the necessity of full body armor on today’s battlefield.  Forrester’s TERA combines the latest in aerogel and body-powered heat recycling technology to create armor with active cooling to keep you cool and dry, whether you’re in the depths of Amazonia waiting to bag the big one or waiting in ambush under the dunes of Morocco in July.

>>>>>[Aside from mountain climbing, these are incredibly useful when scaling a building you're about to break into. Or, in a pinch, for stopping your fall off a building. Or stopping your parachute from dragging you off a building due to wind strength.]<<<<<

>>>>>[The controls can be a bit unusual, but this is a very good parachute. Just watch weather... Silicates can be somewhat fragile where it comes to acid rain. If you think you may face acid rain and your target is a building, carry some fusion pitons and climbing gear. Just in case.]<<<<<

My recommendation: make this into a Google Doc and post the link.  Comments can be added by anyone with the link, it'll be permanently available, and it'll flow better.

>>>>>[I saw some gangers using these.  They probably just bought them 'cause they were cheap, because they sure as hell didn't know how to use them.  Once the fighting started, the poorly handled recoil had the guns nearly flying out of their hands!]<<<<<

>>>>>[These things make fragging awesome goblin stompers.  It's not hard to get the wireless system to be in control of the coils, and the design and materials work to make sure it doesn't cook through your shoe while you're stomping faces.]<<<<<

Jeeze.  It would almost sound stupid until you realize we're talking about an immortal elf clown sword fighting a dragon ghost in a mall.
